When I put my CD in the cd-rom, it doesn't appear on the screen? |
| |
| So when I put my cd into the cd-rom, it loads a little bit, and then nothing happens. I try to go to My computer and find it but its not there. I expected it to automatically start but.. I'm really bad at this so I don't know what do to, or find it. And some of you say that I have to go to device manager and such, but my computer's language is in norwegian so I don't know that is. Please explain in a simple term for me. Thanks a lot! | | | | | |

| | Try some other CD, see if that works. Or go to My Computer and right click on "open" (first one) on your drive. | | | | | | |

| | I mean right click on your drive and click "open". Doesn't matter which language it is cause it's the first one. Also you can easily change language in windows | | | |

| | I think 'Autorun' is disabled in your system that's why the windows doesn't appear automatically... Go to Start>Run>Type gpedit.msc...Then Group Policy window will open...Scroll down to User Configuration>System...Then click 'Turn off Autoplay or right click>Properties then enable it from there... Hope this bit of information will help you sort out your problem...If it did, please mark this as "Best Response" so others can refer to this too...Thanks! | | | | | | |

| | I may be a little late, but if you're still having problems, try this. If the OS is anything other than English, don't worry, i wouldn't think it would be a problem. On the windows desktop, go to start, right-click my computer and select properties. A new window should pop up. So go to the third tab and click on the top one which should be device manager. When that is clicked, a new window should pop up. Maximize the screen, and see if there are anything or devices open usually showing a yellow?, or a red!. The signs on the devices indicate a problem with a specific hardware although i'm hoping that it shows no hardware problems. If you have any questions about that, go ahead and pm me and i'll gladly explain. Anyways about the DVD/CD-rom drive, click the plus on the icon that represents the cd-rom device. It should then be identified by the brand manufacturer, just right-click on it and select uninstall, finish the confirmation, close everything, and restart the pc. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it may be the cd-rom needs some cleaning. Use a can of compresed air and check it's operation. Hope you fix it. | | | | | | |

| | hi, i also have a another problem about why DVD-ROM can't autorun CD/DVD. Because i have installed some anti-malware or trojan security software, it prohibit virus or trojan with autorun, that kind of virus or trojan is autorun.inf virus, its media is USB, when you plug USB with autorun virus into your computer, your computer is attacked by this virus, and you open disk drivers, meet autorun virus alert. So some security software has default setting to prohibit autorun, you could change its setting to recover autorun capability in CD/DVD-ROM. Good luck friend, enjoy mylot! | | | | | | |
