Why only good memories would only be said to those departed known people?

Maybe because we are always prone to take everything we have now for granted and don't realize that we should appreciating and treasuring them yet. When they are away from us, we miss them so much that what we can think of are almost their good points.

Precisely,why does during the last memoriam of the said dead person,only good deeds were being spoken about him/her?
Maybe there are reason for this.

>To pay respect for the dead(respect for the dead?...but he/she is already dead and hears nothing at all)

>To remember only the good things about him/her(isn't this hypocrisy?,when everybody knows he/she also have done mistakes,even the most and best good people are also prone to do mistakes and wrong in their lives)

>As a respect for the bereaved family(but they are the person who knows better how and what kind of person their dead love one is,so,they know better if he/she really only done all good things)

uhmn.....whatever the reason my friend,i also wonder why it is always like that.The most ridiculous things is,when someone in the neighborhood,who is known as a troublemaker,a mean husband and father to his kids,when he is dead,on his wake,you may hear his family saying "he is a good person" but the truth is,when he is still alive,his family's always cursing "you,demon,why don't you die"(lolz)

Maybe after that person death, there's no need to remember those sad and bad memories about him. Just forgive him for all the mistakes he ever made and let's think about the good side of him. For example, there's someone who hate him and wanna take revenge on him before. By hearing many good things about him, maybe that hater will realize that he just ordinary man, have family, a good man too.. thus he may forgive him (the one who already passed away). By saying good things, hope all people who have problem with him give forgiveness and let it all over. This can make peace for those who forgive and make peace too to the one who die(maybe, if he can still feel..hehehe. hey, "rest in peace", how can he rest in peace if there's some peoples who wanna take revenge on him?)
