Yesterday, a great Filipino leader was buried. She was not only a former head of state and a public servant but a great leader and a global symbol of democracy. It has been said, that leadership is first and foremost, influence. From the hundreds of thousands of people who followed her funeral cortege from the Manila Cathedral to Manila Memorial park and the millions more on tv, radio and the internet, truly she has influenced the nation for good. Her influence was first publicly seen at EDSA I, People's Power Revolt in 1986 and continued to grow from her presidency and even after her term of office. For more than two decades, she maintained her course of fighting for the freedom of our country and the welfare of the poor and underpriviledged. It has been said that she was not tainted by corruption nor greed. There are many lessons that can be learned from her life and works, but I think the best lessons can be gleaned from her leadership of her own family especially when she became a widow, raising all five of her kids. Eventually, they all turned out to be good leaders in their own rights themselves. Tita Cory is a true servant-leader. What do you think? What have you learned from her life and leadership?

There are a lot of things which each one of us learned from Mrs. President. Her being simple brings her to success and honors. Her being God fearing teaches us to trust all our worries to God and everything will be alright. Being strong not only as a leader but also as a woman and of course, a mother and a wife who lost her husband. I admire her most because she remain her composure all the time even in the most trying moments in her life. Her being compassionate and selfless and yet she is a true example of braveness. I am just wondering why bad things happen to such a good person like her. Why did she became sick? There are a lot of evil doers in the government and those who killed her husband. Why it should be her inflicted with cancer? But maybe only God knows the reasons why. Maybe God has a better plan that only time can reveal. What else can we do but to forever remember Mrs. President and live by her examples and be inspired to be a good person like her.

Miss Cory Aquino showed the true meaning of how life should be lived in th right way. She sacrificed everything to serve his family especially Ninoy during the Martial Law. She also sacrificed her private life as a Cojuanco when she decided to give in to the demands of the Filipino people to be the one to lead them out of tyranny from the Marcos regime which for me is a very hard task to do since she is just a plain housewife to Ninoy and a doting mother to her children. Miss Cory Aquino also showed that prayers are more powerful than a sword which she demonstrated when she led Filipinos to a bloodless revolt against the dictator Ferdinand Marcos. She also exemplified the true meaning of a Christian because she is very religious and very vocal about her faith in GOD and has a very soft heart for her countrymen even after her term as President of the Philippines compared to past presidents who seem to just live a private life when their term ends. Cory showed that a good leader should know how to take good care of her people and know when to step down unlike other politicians who are very greedy to stay in power to satisfy their personal interests. Our country needs to have a leader like Cory to unite us once and for all so that our country will move toward progress.
