How do I format my Hard Drive? Do I need a boot cd?  

Hi,

Do you want to format the total harddrive or only any partition?? If you want to format your entire harddisk, then you need to use a boot CD/DVD or connect the harddisk to any other PC and format it. If you want to format a partition, then simply right click and format it.

I have a question that is do you wish to format C drive or other drives. If its for other drives then just right click and click on the option format and the drive is formatted do take care that if you need any of the files from it transfer it to other drives so that the data is not lost. If you wish to format C drive then you must need a OS Cd to format it.

If you want to reformat your hard drive completely, then yes you will need the Boot CD. You put the CD/DVD into the computer, then restart it. Once it restarts, the CD will boot instead. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!
