I will not spend beyond my income this week!

I just talked to my husband and I told him that this coming week, we will try to spend just what is equal to our income. It will be a lot challenging for us since there are so many expenses for the week. Sometimes even there are also emergency or surprise expenses too. I am quiet nervous about this but I hope we can do it. Can you give some suggestions for us to make it through the week?

Hi beaushell: I think its a good idea for you. Trying to save up is important. You could make some sacrifices, like some stuff that arent really neccesary. Just mantain to the minimum. Make a list of this things, see how much you should spend on food, transportation, etc.

if you just have your basic life you definitely will not spend a lot of money. your plan will work. my husband and I always try to save money for travelling. to be fair it's my idea. I can't imagine how can you spend money more than your income. i just can guess you use credit card. I can easily save money because I don't shop a lot. however it also means my life is boring. however my husband always has idea to spend.

I know this can be a great challenge. Everytime you go to buy something ask yourself if you really need the item. Do you really need it or is it just something that you want. also spend your money only on food (at the grocery store no fast food), gas, and any bills you have to pay. This will cut down on expenses in other places. I hope you accomplish this goal for the week. good luck to you and your family. best, oscar6

The only suggestion I can make is to make a list and stick to it when going to the super. I tend to forget my list on the dining room table. That turns out to be a disaster as in those cases I always spend more than I should. Luck and happy posting!
