Do you really believe in fortune-telling and the Nostradamus thing?  

i dont but my country is very superstitious. some facts are mixed with superstition here so a lot of people believe it..during the new year, there will be telecasts of what will happen this year and if there will be calamities etc.(imagine being paid to appear on national tv to say forecasts!) . but as for me fortune telling is interesting,.. sometimes people cant understand things around them and we are all naturally worried about the future. so sometimes fortune tellers tell us many good things and we feel happy bec of what they say. so even if you know it's true, it's at least comforting.

I recall a few years ago, the sceptic James Randi challenged the so-called psychic Sylvia Browne to a challenge where he would pay her 1 million dollars if she made a series of predictions for a randomly-selected "guinea-pig" and they all came true.

I wrote off, volunteering to be that guinea-pig. Apparently she refused to take up the challenge. From what I have heard about her predictions since, I can see why she refused.

I have never yet heard of any of these psychics who get much right. If there is somebody out there who can predict 100% what is going to happen during the rest of my life (and there is not all that much of it left), I will be only to glad to meet them. Given my current financial predicament, I cannot afford to pay them anything - yet!
