Open Mozilla Firefox and go to tools-press options. Put all the settings to default and try to open the sites which you are facing problem. If still problem continues then uninstall firefox and download the latest version and install and try out again.. all the best..

The recent version of Firefox is having problems in cookie handling and that's why I switched to Opera, though it isn't as smooth as Firefox. (Opera just hangs when it handles pages with Javascript)
Back to Firefox issue, there is nothing we can do I think. I've tried it repeatedly, and it is just the same. Only mozilla people could do anything I think.

I cannot find where in option page I can configure cookies in the latest version of firefox 3.5.2. Maybe they don't find the need to tinker this anymore. I have an addon called "CookieSafe" which I hardly use anyway except for clearing a particular site cookies. What I'm trying to say here is maybe your problem lies not on setting cookies. Are you using noscript? Ensure that the site script is allowed to run properly(only for those really trusted sites).
