Woodstock! WOW! Do I remember that era! Such a wonderful time!
Why did we get from there to here...well, I don't think too many will like my response, but I believe it started with "Woman's Lib". Woman no longer wanted to stay home and raise their children, they wanted a career just like the men. So women went off to work, bought cars of their own, and made a good pay check for themselves. They met their soon to be spouse, and decided with both their pay checks they could purchase a home before they settled down and got married. After they got married, they had children, but now the mother could no longer afford to stay home and raise them, as they now had a mortgage, cars, and all their personal toys to support. So off to the babysitter or the day care center, went their kids. Parents now see their kids a total of 3 hours a day, before they retire for the night. Kids get older, and they now become the latch key kids....no parents home when they get home from school. Kids are now acting like adults at 10 years old, when were still playing with toys at 13. Kids are no longer kids.
To me, when woman left the home, is where it all began.

And that's what I am trying to figure out also...Do we blame our government, when they took God out of our schools, for the lack of interest that families now have practicing some religion? When did the parents stop caring whether or not their child had a religious teaching or not. I find it amazing how little families go to church now. Somewhere they had to take on their responsibility, we can't blame the goverment all the time. I wish I had an answer to that one.

I agree in part of what you said, in that we stood by and allowed the atheists to change our society. Look what we've done with abortion, and gay marriages....however I feel it is the liberal Christians who have allowed it get to this. It is the liberal Christians who look the other way, and leave the judgement in God's hands, instead of standing up and fighting for what is right and wrong. It's stated everywhere in the Bible that Christians will be persecuted for their beliefs, but the liberals today, are frighted of this persecution, and instead, go with the flow.
It is the Concervative Christians who are fighting tooth and nail to ban this liberal thinking. Yes, it is true that the way some of them convey their message is the wrong way, Fire and brimstone isn't go to get thru to anyone; however didn't Jesus show his anger with the Money changers. When the forgiving message doesn't affect others, than sometimes you just have to get mad.
Christians are sinners, and unfortunately aren't and will never be perfect just because they are Christians. However, I agree that some are Christians in name only...but I blame that on the lack of understanding, and the lack of teaching from the church leaders. Unfortunately, it is when people experience a crisis do they ultimately reach out for more.
But you are right...one day we will all have to face the Lord, and have to find answers to our actions.

There are spiritual laws that govern the universe. One is YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.
Our harvest is ripe...and we are reaping it.
