What are your feelings towards a beggar?  

I think everyone regards a beggar with a bit of skepticism. They wonder why the beggar can't go to a temporary agency or an employment agency and get a job, just like we have. Some of us work more than one job, why can't the beggar get just one?

Some homeless people/beggars are addicts, some are veterans, some are runaways, some of abandoned, some are mentally ill. I can't stand it when I don't have spare money to help them with; but I need all I have.

They, too, could go to a library and use the internet and do paid to clicks and mylot here and there, and make some money.

Exploiting a handicapped person is just awful. Where did you read that there was proof showing this was a mafia network?

When I do have the money, I do spare it, and I feel good about myself, knowing I am helping someone. I handed a dollar to someone once, and he smiled and thanked me, exposing his one tooth. That's right, he only had one tooth. It made me cry.

Some people dress down, sit by a freeway entrance all day begging for money, and then walk to their BMWs at night, and go back to their house. That makes people leary of genuine people who need help.

My friend recycles her cans for money. She gives that money to a homeless man local to her.

Its very sad, and there is no reason anyone should not have food or shelter in this day and age.

A beggar is actually a human person who we must care for. A beggar is deprived in life. That is why he is begging...not only for financial aid but perhaps for help on surviving life. Many people have made begging a means to benefit themselves. These are the indolent parents and the organized mafia. Begging had become a cultural dilemma in the many great cities of the world. As there are beggars, so are there the greedy rich who would not even share crumbs from his banquet table...

In our country, one of the modus operandi of syndicates is that they send out children to beg in the streets and they collect the money afterwards. Some beggars, if they are not part of a crime organization would use the money they have collected to buy addictive substances. Yes, this situation is very real.

Whenever I see a beggar, especially if it's a child, my heart is torn. Knowing what I know, I am skeptical that maybe by giving the beggar money I am just supporting the syndicates that are behind them. So what I do is I buy them something to eat, instead.

mmm .. i don't know, if i feel sorry, i can see in their eyes, i just gave it to them, i don't care what for is the money they will use, as long as we are doing a good things, it doesn't matter, God can see what you do for others, including the beggar do

I used to give money to the beggars, that was until I discovered some of them are cheaters. The problem is, it's hard to figure out who cheat and who's not. They're better than any actors. It's irritating. I don't mind sharing but I hate being cheat. It's taking advantage of other people kindness.

I will sometimes give small change and sometimes wont. The things that stop me from giving is the fact that (As someone above pointed out) so are people that will walk to their posh cars and go to their houses at the end of the night, and that is something that really gets me mad. Also I dont like the fact that many of them will use the money to go buy themselves some drugs. But I really dont mind giving to those who genuinly need the help.

I used to give something to beggars, unfortunately when i found out that these people, including kids are part of some syndicate, i stopped giving it to them.sad but, some of them tend to be abusive..so, instead i would just give psalm to charities that has piggy banks near the ticket booth..

Well I know begging is often frowned upon becuse there are so many scammers out there and lazy people who are looking for hand outs, but I think that we should keep in mind that there are some people out there that are not begging, but in fact really and sincerely need our help. with that said I also frown on constant beggars, meaning people who are not motivated to make somthing out of there lives and are depending on hand outs from others to make a living. but if someone has proven/shown to me that they honestly need help, I would defintly consider helping them depending on there situation, and theres a big difference between a beggar's and a person just asking some for help, lets all remember that.

Normally when I see a small child or am old man I feel pity for them. But when I see a 30-40 years old man begging on the road side I get annoyed sometimes. I mean he can do some work and earn instead of begging. But you are right begging is more of a industry. Some gangs catch these children and old people and make them to beg. This way they are getting to earn lots of money. Once my sister saw on roadside a very young kid begging. She knew if she will give her money it will not go to her. Instead she went to nearby shop and bought a sandwitch for her. She ate that and she was happy. I was amazed at the thinking of my sister. Really nice.
