60% of pregnant teens have abortions  |

 I watched a program yesterday evening called Under Age and Pregnant. I looked at some teenage girls that were pregnant and then how they cared for their babies. It was upsetting to hear that in my home country 60% of pregnant teens have an abortion. None of them intended to get pregnant but it happened to them even those using birth control.
What do you think?

You did your very best to not get pregnant so soon again but that happened. I am delighted that at 20 years old people's attitude had changed for the better. Yes, the poor girls often do what the doctor suggests! I think it was awful to hear how much under 16s get paid for working: £3 an hour and they have a baby to care for. | |

 mrakobesie (754) | 4 months ago |  I totally agree, i grew up watching movies that teach morals, these days there are very few movies like that coming out. english is a beautiful language, but for some reason it was mutalated and half of it was forgoten or replaced with unacceptable words. I usually look for movies from a other countries now because they are usually much better quality from the moral stand point.

| mrakobesie (754) | 4 months ago | contaceptives don't always help, they are not 100% preventive. unfdortunatley there are kids who also simply don't use it thinking nothing will happen, but some use bad quality contraceptives which have hirher accident rate, some use good quality and have accidents anyway. They should teach to use double protection, use 2 contraceptives at the same time, if one fails, there is a second one just in case. | |

I am afraid that although I know that some children born of teenage mothers/parents will be well cared for and all, I still don't think it's the perfect choice for every case.
The life of the pregnant teen will never be the same and her opportunities to study and even just enjoy that phase of her life will be forever changed. One can't go back.
I am completely in favor of good sexual education and all means of prevention of pregnancy that are available now, but we all know that sometimes it happens. If it had happened to me, I am afraid that having that baby could have been lower in my list of solutions.

| 5. mrakobesie (754) | 4 months ago | it's very sad to hear that these many teens get pregnant, though i think that this is the reason why abortion should be legal, because even if birth control is used, there is a chance that they will get pregnant anyway. Surelly there is a choice of giving the baby for adoption, but the girl would have to miss school and risk never having proper education because of it. i've been to a medical lecture of genital herpies, in united states kids in elementary scool get genital herpies, it's so disturbing to see that. If 7-8 year old kids play games of sexual nature, how can we expect those kids not to have sex when they are 13-14? something, somewhere went wrong, don't know who to blame, but this country is in big trouble when it comes to healthy sexual development. I was growing up in the other part of the world, and there it was unheard of. no kid there would ever play the "games" that they play here. it's simply disturbing to me. | |
