Seven days ago I posted a discussion to let you all know that I was taking the plunge and starting the Weight Watchers program. If you missed that discussion, you may find it here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2095633.aspx. Today I have an update on my status. This morning I weighed myself to see what my progress was. Although I had successfully managed to watch what and how much I ate all week and had managed to stay within my daily allowance of food points, I had not done much in the way of exercise or activity. Therefor I was expecting a weight loss of maybe a pound or two if any. Well when I weighed myself this morning, I couldn't believe my eyes. I weighed myself not once, but 3 times and then had my husband and kids all weigh themselves as well just to make sure that my scale was working properly; it is. In my first week on the plan I have lost 10 pounds!!! Now I don't expect that I will continue to lose that much weight every week and I know that it would not even be healthy to do so. I suspect that most weeks I will probably only loose a pound or two. I also suspect that since I just started that much of this initial weight loss is probably just water weight loss. Nevertheless, losing 10 pounds in my first week makes me feel super motivated! I can't believe it! Have you ever done much better then you expected you would when you started something new?

That is very good! Congrats and keep up the good work. Of course we who have lost weight have to realize that sometimes the early loss is "water" but as far as I am concerned 10 pounds is 10 pounds! I need now to work harder on toning up after my 30 pound loss. Am exercising but I have discovered, at least for me, toning is harder than losing the weight.Ugh.

I neverThat is great and I'm happy for you. My daughter is on a diet and has lost 10 lbs to but she is just watching what she eats, portion control, plenty of water and no greasy or fatty foods. She sounds like you so happy. Just be careful because you don't want to be losing 10 lbs each week that could end up being a problem. Good luck to you.

That's fantastic! Sure, it won't be like that every week, but so what? Ten pounds is awesome! The first week I started my own "diet", I was so surprised to lose 8 pounds. I hadn't expected that. I think it is even Weight Wacthers who say that the goal is to lose 2 pounds a week, right? It's been a while since my mom was on it, and that's where I think I heard that. You're way ahead of the curve. Congratulations!
