NOT A REFERRAL LINK................
I was so fortunate to have met these wonderful guys, many times before my car accident, those two are the kindest, sweetest two men you'd ever want to meet, they would and "do" so much for us fans its just unreal.
God Love them! I hope they get a nice long rest, they deserve it, and whatever each of them do next I wish them both all the very best.
I know we've not seen or heard the last of them, ( maybe as a duo ), but I know they will continue to write and sing;
The first time I met them I was so tongue tied I felt like an absolute idiot, the biggest "boob" on the planet but what can I say? One look into Ronnie's Eye's just had me all weak-knee'd...LOL!!!
I love their music, do you??
Have any of you out there in mylot land got to go and see BROOKS & DUNN?? get to meet them? Have your picture taken with them?
and no I'm not posting and sharing mine...LOL! BLEH! HURL HURL (at myself)... I was mega-sunburned I mean LOBSTER-SIZED from being out in the sun so much down at Fan_fair...BURNT TO A CRISP!!! so again no I'm not sharing my photo's of them and me together sorry...(EG)!!!

dreamweaverjan (1394) | 4 months ago | HI Thoroughrob: Yeah it saddens me too!! Love love love B&D!!
OMG! My friend and I had so much fun when we used to go to concerts
and to TN, to Fanfair for several years, they call it something else now can't remember what they changed it too;
But yes we got to meet them 3 or 4 times maybe more we used to belong to their fan club too...LOL!!
I miss those days of doing something "fun" and having money to do something fun...PFFTTT!!!
I've not been to anything since the car accident in 1996 it sucks!!!
Yeah I do wish those two wonderful men the very very best for them;
They always stayed no matter how exhausted they were from the shows to stay and sign each fan's autograph and get their photo's taken with them that's another thing that really really impressed me about them;
They loved their fans and they still do;

| | 2. cyrus123 (1636) | 4 months ago | Hi Jan! It's good to see you again! I've been missing you here lately.
I sure am sorry to hear that B&D are breaking up. They were such a good duo. I guess they need the rest, though. Kix Brooks is such a good singer. I wish I could think of the name of that song they do that I like so well. It's about Old Man Rigley. You probably know the one I'm talking about. That's such a good song.
No, I never have seen them in concert or met them. I bet they were good in concert, though. I heard Reba McEntire talk about them one time. I think she has worked with them because she was going on about how cute they were, etc.! It was so funny! Kathy.

cyrus123 (1636) | 4 months ago | I guess I got them mixed up. I guess I like Ronnie Dunn the best. He's a good singer. I also like "My Maria". I have the record of that with B.W. Stevenson singing it. He was the one who wrote that song. That particular record was popular when I was a freshman in college. Kathy.

cyrus123 (1636) | 4 months ago | There's no need to be tongue tied when meeting a famous star. They're just people like we are, lol . Actually, I know how you feel. I'm sure you remember Billy Joe Royal, don't you? I met him one time at the Best Western Motel here in Jasper. It was near Christmastime and my mother and I were invited to the Christmas party they were having in the restaurant part of the motel for the employees. This was after daddy passed away and my brother inherited the motel. He invited us and the employees of the insurance office as well. Anyway, there was a crowd of people waiting in the lobby of the motel for them to get the food ready and Billy Joe Royal passed through at one point. I really didn't know for sure if it was him or not at first but I thought it looked like him and I was standing there talking to my nephew's wife. I asked her if that was Billy Joe Royal that passed through and she said she didn't know. Then, I got to thinking that I bet it was him because I remembered hearing on radio a night or two before that that he was going to be in Jasper to perform at one of the bars here. When he came back through, I hollered at him. I shook his hand and introduced myself. I also told him that I had been a fan of his for a long time. I introduced myself again, ROFL , that's how nervous I was, I guess! I hope he didn't think anything about it . I told him that I had his album that had "Down In The Boondocks" and "I Knew You When" on it. Of course, when I met him, he was already in country music so it was a long time ago when he recorded those songs. I also introduced my mother to him, who was standing on the other side of me. He asked me what was going on with all these people in here and I explained to him that we were fixing to have a Christmas party and we were waiting for them to get the food ready. I used that word "fixing" and he looked at me like he hadn't heard that word in a long time. That's a pretty common word we tend to use in the south when we're getting ready to do something. I didn't get to talk to him much because he was in a hurry. I found out later that he had gone in the restaurant to get some coffee before his bus left. Mother and I sat with two of the employees from the insurance office at the party and one of them jokingly told me that I should have invited Billy Joe Royal to sing at the party. You just never know when you wake up one morning who you're going to meet that day, do you?The funny thing about it is, I met Billy Ray Cyrus a few years later and I didn't make any crazy mistakes like this. I guess I was more prepared to meet him since I was in the fan club. I talked to him as if I had known him all my life. Meeting Billy Joe Royal was more of a surprise meeting. Kathy.

dreamweaverjan (1394) | 3 months ago | Hey Kathy: What a really cool story there, sure I remember him and those songs;
Well sounds like you do way better than me when meeting people LOL! Sometimes I do really good, and other times I could just KICK MYSELF, iF I could only reach my own butt to do it...
I got to meet Randy Owens, you know lead singer of Alabama I met them many times over the years when they were touring, and of course there at Fan Fair, Randy, and Teddy, were always the sweetest, kindest, most patient with all us crazy fans, Jeff, & Mark ( the drummer) they always seemed liked they were in such a hurry to rush us all through and be off somewhere else you know?
I do miss those trips we took to Fan fair but honestly I just don't have the energy or strength to do those all day affairs, no way in hell could I stand around for hours on end like we did then waiting for them, and so on;
I've not been to any concert since the car accident, no money to do sh!t...
When I was working my two jobs, the second job basically was my "play money" to do what I wanted to do things you know?
now I just struggle to "get by" each month...
Hope your Labor day weekend is going well... mine is not...I got the worst case of flu ever in my 48 years.....
I'm sitting here weak as a kitten but I'm sick to death of my bed and my couch..(G)!
so while my Chicken is baking I'm trying to sit here and type a bit, my stupid elbow is killing me too...Hopefully I'll get some answers about that tomorrow when I go see my Doctor...damn thing, stupid body, ARRGGhhh! somebody just SHOOT ME!!!!!

hellcowboy (4856) | 4 weeks ago | Yeah they do deserve some rest,and everyone should spend time with their families especially since Christmas is coming up,and hopefully they will still make CD's and even if they are not together I will still be fans of theirs because they have a lot of talent otherwise they would not have made it as far as they have,and they have a lot of hit songs and a lot of fans.

| | 4. SomeCowgirl (7894) | 1 month ago | Wow, We're just hearing all sorts of news in the country music world today. My husband and I just saw a discussion (he saw it first) about Miley Cyrus not really being named Miley at birth but Destiny Hope instead. With her name change she added Ray... so it's Miley Ray. In any case, wow their breaking up? So sad! So sad indeed! I like them!

dreamweaverjan (1394) | 1 month ago | HI SomeCowgirl: Yeah it was really sad when I heard this about them but I wish them both all the very best in whatever they continue to do;
I hadn't seen that discussion but I do remember that when she was born that her name was Destiny Hope, and then when she became more and more famous with the show on Disney, Hanna Montanna....anyway when they kept calling her Miley Cyrus I was like HUH?? WHO?? when the heck did they change her name you know??
Years ago when I was healthy and going to TN for Fan fair and stuff I had got to meet Billy Ray a few times when he first got famous he was so cute, and shy LOLOL!!!
I still Like him as a singer, and he does really good at Acting too, I hope his daughter, Miley has her head screwed on straight and doesn't let all this fame and fortune go to her head so many young people out there just GO NUTS!! And ruin their lives;
But yeah I too will always love Brooks & Dunn and wish them all the very best in whatever adventures they do, just hope (we the public) hear about them you know?
