Since its not delivered on a Sunday one more day will not make a big difference especially since they say that the amount of mail they receive to deliver has gone down due to bill paying online and the internet. Thanks for your response.

hi,
well thank you. This is a news for me. Now about the option I would like them to go off the office on Friday rather.

Personally I think we have no real control over what they decide and such but it would be different not getting any mail on Saturdays, but at the same time if they need to cut back on expenses I guess they have no choice. But will this slow down the cost of the increase of postage? It is now getting rediculous to mail off anything for sure. Makes me wonder how people can buy anything via online Auction sites like Ebay anymore.

I agree with you if it stops the increase of the stamps that would be great. However, I truly believe this is why they are loosing money. I think more people are doing everything on line because the stamps are just to expensive. If they never had raised the stamps more people I believe would still be using them and they wouldn't be losing business. Thank you for responding.

I have heard about them trying to do this but what is crazy is they were talking about keeping Saturday and getting rid of Wendsday, which they say is their slowest day. I don't see why they need to shut down another day when they keep raising their costs...if their going to shut down another day then they should also cut back the costs of mailing things.

They want to cut down by omitting a day for delivery but they don't realize they brought this on themselves by constantly raising the stamp prices. I think if anything they should pick Saturday and Sunday so the Mailworkers can have two days off in a row. Thanks for your comment.

That news is hard to take, lelin, for someone who has become accustomed to receiving mail 6 days a week. But, the economy being what it is, the cutback is understandable. As far as preference goes, it really does not matter to me which delivery date is eliminated. I just hope it doesn't get any worse!

Yes I love getting my mail too but to not get it on the weekend it really wouldn't bother me at all. You would get accustom to it before you know it. Anyway thanks so much for responding.

Oh definitely its about cutbacks plus the public not using the post office as much due to the internet. I just think alot of people are disgusted with the stamps going up everytime you turn around so they are using them less. Thanks for responding.

I had heard that a while ago, but it seemed that nothing came out of it. I had not heard that again, but if they do, I would say Saturday would be a good day to eliminate.

I have been reading about it online and in the paper plus my sister works for the USPS and says there have been talks about it. Since they are losing money because of the internet. They are not as busy as usual which I can't believe. I guess alot of people pay their bills online (like I do). I think its a good idea so that they get the two days off in a row. Its not an easy job at all. Thanks for responding.

I agree it would give the postal workers two days off and maybe prevent them from going postal. LOL LOL LOL Thanks for responding.

I don't think it would bother me much to not receive mail on a Saturday. It's not considered a 'business day' already, so no important documents are counting it as a delivery day anyway.

Yes I agree I think that Saturday would be the best day for no delivery. Thanks for responding.
