finally....yard sale pt 2!!!

Back in June, I had a yard sale and it didnt turn out very well for me since it was super slow that weekend... I mean I live on a busy street and even the main street was very slow that weekend.... so I started a discussion regarding whether I should do it again or not and most of the people here said yes. After a very busy summer, crazy weekends, and dealing with the weather we have had.... finally everything is working out that I can do my yard sale #2 this weekend. We are going to be dry (thank goodness!!!!) and the weather is going to be upper 80s so that is going to work out nicely for me. Our city has a limit of 2 yard/garage sales a year....so this will be my second one... I hope to do well....and another thing that will work out is that hubby will be home to help out and watch the kids as well... so this is going to be perfect. I have to make up the signs this afternoon... and we will get up early and start setting up. I am anxious and excited --oh I just hope to do well and get rid of alot of stuff. I want to clean out most of my garage --we so need room in there!!! Have you had a yard sale this year?? Did you do well.... does your city put a limit on how many you can have a year?? Do you live in a busy area and did that help??

i hope you did well at your yard sale i have just had 3 and it is so much trouble i haven't had anymore you can have as many here where i live as you want .when i lived in Martin tn you could just have two.they said they were hurting the downtown business

I agree, they are way too much work... I wont do it again... I was thinking the first time around it was just the time of year... this time was slow again --well the first day was busier than the second... but it wasnt really worth the time and effort I put into setting up/taking down, pricing, etc.... I wont do this again...but at least I will take it as experience and knowledge!! LOL thanks for the response and happy mylotting.

Yard sale is not a popular affair in my country. But I heard that it is very popular in western countries. What ever goods we want to dispose off will go the the 2nd hand store for them to display and sell in their shops. Nice to know that you had a successful yard sale.

they are very popular here..but I think you have to have a good location to do them... mine was very slow again and I am pretty sure it is the area that I am located in...because my aunts do very well in there areas. thanks for the response and happy mylotting.

Good luck with your second attempt at your yard sale!!! I hope you make lots and lots of money :-) lol My husband and I just moved from an apartment complex. They would not allow yard sales unfortunately. We had TONS Of stuff to sell too because we were moving and some duplicates of things we just did not need. I posted many of the items on Craigslist and sold them that way. It pretty much looked like a yard sale in our living room! LOL We actually made around $500 selling what we wanted to sell. Worked out probably better than a yard sale for us!

that was a great way to get rid of stuff!! I have the signs ready, posted on craigslist my times and location, and we are about to head out to put up the signs so that I am not having to do that tomorrow morning...then all I have to do is set up!! thanks for the response and happy mylotting.
