I was wondering if there's any political scandal in your hometown. | | | | So the mayor in my town just got acquitted for offering a bribe to another candidate to drop out of the race. I guess he thought that he'd have a better chance of winning if the other person dropped out of the race. According to the papers he offered the other person a plum position somewhere else. As it turns out the other person didn't get the position, he felt like he was scammed. So he sued the mayor, the judge in the case said that there wasn't enough information that our mayor did anything wrong. What do you think? Are there any scandals involving politics in your town? If so, what were they? Do you think the person is guilty of the crime even though a judge has said they aren't? | | | | | | | | | | Local Coupons Ridiculously huge deals every day. | | Yes, in my town(and other towns in the state), my county and especially on the state level. Several have been caught and are serving time but many more are still in their positions of power and covering up their schemes and bribes, etc. | | | | | | | Agee_inc (363)

| | I have been in several little small towns and they are all crooked. There is always some mayor or police officer doing something crooked. It seems the smaller the town the worse it is. You find that alot in Kentucky. All these backwoods towns are like that. If you know the cops there and are friends with them, you can almost get away with anything. | | | | | | | Elizabeth Warren Site Get Involved. Rebuild the Middle Class. | | Hmmmm. Good question. I love seeing local politics being brought up and discussed in here, doesn't happen often enough. I live in a pretty small town, a little over 2000 people. Our local system of government consists of 3 elected selectmen, who hire a town manager. A number of other positions are elected as well, tax collecter, treasurer, etc. I am thinking pretty hard about this and I am hard pressed to come up with anything you could call a "political scandal" in recent memory. About 5 years ago, one of our selcetmen, was having a dispute with the town manager, Joyce McGee (awesome lady by the way, real decent person) Anyway, This selectman isn't exactly known for tact. In a conversation with someone, he said words to the effect of "she needed to be bent over a couch". Lol, this nearly resulted in a fist fight between He and Joyces husband from what I understand, lol. Other than that, most stuff is pretty little. Accounting goofs, a little cronyism, the usual small town stuff. | | | | | | | | | | Political Forum Share your Political Views In a Fun Social Environment! www.livecitizen.com | add comment | | | |

| | I assume by home town, you mean where I am currently living (my original home town is 1,000 kilometers away, and in another country). Nope, I often think that there ought to be given Frankfurt's geography - the main railway station and the financial district are separated by the city's sleazeball red-lights district, and there would be plenty of opportunities for some of the financial big wheels to get caught up in scandals there, but I have heard nothing along those lines since we moved here in 2004. Meanwhile the lady mayor of the city (a traditional conservative in the European mould, and 50-odd years old) hardly ever gets her name in the press for anything other than policy matters. As none of the German banks that got caught up in the American property bubble crash last year are based in Frankfurt, nothing on that front either. | | | | | | | | | | Man "Cheats" Credit Score He Added 126 Points To His Credit Score Using This 1 Easy Tip. www.SecretsOfYourCreditScore.com | add comment | | | |

| | Well the city I live in is always in scandle. But mayor is an idiot and has make national news several times. The most recent politics happenings is that someone employeed by the city (our city is way in the red and trying to collect money anyway it can) enforced a city code of "no parking on any grass or gravel". The problem was that this lady had her car immobilized by the city courts, it was not to be moved by anyone unless they had a court order. (She had a bunch of traffic tickets) So, anyway, the enforcer guy on orders from the mayor had her car towed, now, he must appear in court and explain why he violated a court order and why he should not be held in comtempt of court. Appartently when the courts towed this lady's car to her home one wheel was on her grass. The lady also explained to this enforcer guy that the car was under court not to be moved and had a court club (locking device) on it. | | | | | | | | | | Funny Political Pictures Check Out These Funny Political Pictures and Share With Your Friends!
