1. astonysh (1824) | 5 months ago | My parents were Christian (Methodists) as well, but they also encouraged me to believe in Santa Claus - it was all a fun thing.
When my sister got to the age of 8, she turned round and told me that Santa Claus did not exist. As she was two-and-a-half years older than I was, and she always seemed to know what was going on, I came to agree with her. That I think makes me five?

4. AndrewFreyne (2546) | 5 months ago | This is interesting! I used to believe in good old St Nick but then I gave up on the idea, I guess you do once you reach adulthood! However, I do remember a specific point in my childhood, it was one Christmas and I saw this new toy that had just entered the scene! Anyway, my dad could see from my facial expression that I really wanted this toy, I just had to have it. So, he said something to me along the lines of 'if you are a good boy then Santa may surprise you!' Anyway, at some point on Christmas Eve I was going upstairs and I remember seeing my day rush from one room to the other and lo and behold what do I see? He only has this new toy in his hand about to be wrapped! Well, that destroyed any thought of a santa claus from that time onward! I think it's important to believe in something like Santa Claus as a child, it's just a nice childhood thing! I think that my Christmases were far more glamourous as a child as I would always try and picture the great man in the deep red suit climbing down my chimney! Those days are over sadly! Andrew

5. jlamela (2799) | 5 months ago | I was in grade school when I believed there was Santa Claus, so every Christmas eve, children in the family, including myself had to put socks near our windows or in our Christmas tree, then we excitedly go to sleep and wake up around 11pm to attend mass, then when we come back there's candies and coins put in our socks and we were very excited dancing to the tune of "Santa Claus is coming to town". It was a wonderful childhood memories and up to now I kept reminiscing it.
Well, I was in high school when I learned that Santa Claus is only represented by our parents, that he never came to town to distribute gifts, but somehow, Santa Claus brought joy and gladness during yuletide season that I never asked my parents why they kept us believed that Santa was the one putting candies on socks.
But Santa Claus was really a man not just a legend, he was believed to be St. Nicolaus of Asia Minor now Turkey, he was fond of giving gifts during Christmas to children and poor.
