 I see the game in the stores all the time, especially at Christmas time. New themes and same ol game. I haven't played in years. But I'm fixing to! I am going to teach my nine year old and a few of her friends. I think it will be interesting to see how well they handle their money. Does anyone else still play?

I think the most common board game I used to play as a kid though was Clue (that was my all time favorite board game ever as a kid). I might try to play it again some time soon if I can get anyone to play with me. I did used to enjoy it from what I can remember.

It is a great game for your girl and her friends to learn how to play.It will teach them how to manage and how important money in the world is. Good for you. I have not played monopoly in a long time. The kids today are not into board games. I tried to buy for them for christmas and all they say they want are video games. They don't know what they are missing out on. We had some great innocent fun when we were kids. | |

3.  jugsjugs (2987) | 4 months ago |  I have monopoly on my mobile phone and yes i play it.My sons were right into monopoly a few years ago so much so that they went out to buy a second lot of monopoly so they had more money that way they kept a book who owed what to the banker so the game would carry on for ever.

5.  Sleepingcap (136) | 4 months ago |  Just some month ago, me and some cousins remembered the game, and after dusting it off, we quickly reviewed the rules and got the hang of the overall gameplay. To be honest, the way I saw the game now, was a lot different - being able to actually think, while throwing the die was a brand new experience, for me in monopoly - usually i just bought everything i landed on, even if it meant temporarily closing down some other companies.
But yeah - it is a great game, for realizing how the business world should work, in a very.. very basic way.

We have the updated one, lol the one with the cell phone pieces and the laptop, lol.
Last summer that is all we did,
a hurricane hit home and we had no lights or anything so to pass time
with our kids we would play it.
