AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hate it when the power goes out...and it wasn't even storming "yet".... Was sitting here on my machine mid morning, was just logging into the computer when this LOUD POP SOUND HAPPENS... IT WAS kinda Scary sound really, my oxygen concentrator of course immediately started to "Beep" the alarm meaning it had no power...I thought to myself holy crap WTF happened?? Went outside and the whole block only the West side of the street here was without power those on the East side had power... !!@@##$%%$##@#@!! So I get back into my car and head out to the farm as it was getting close to my soap opera time (G)! No way was I gonna miss my silly stories you know? LOL! When I came back home just after 2:00 p.m. there was like 8 of the big Ameren Ue trucks here, several other small trucks and then some guys with their own trucks here, they were EVERY WHERE, it looked like something you'd see after a big old Storm you know? And the sad thing is, they are not done, they just temporarily fixed the power so that we could have it tonight, and they will be back tomorrow to work on everything again....I never seen so many trucks and men...GGEEZZZ!!! I hate it when there is no power, no water, no nothing and it was a tad bit "humid" out but it was bearable, (weather wise) we had small pop up showers off and on early this morning, but nothing major, still not sure what the heck happened here but that loud popping sound was kinda "spooky".... check out the picture I took this is just one of the 8 trucks over here, stuck up way high, all the kids here were just busy busy busy watching them for hours and hours and hours... It sucks when you can't watch TV, get on your computer or have the air conditioning on, fix a meal, NOTHING!!!! tHANKFULLY My Dad's farm is only like a mile away, guess I'll be spending some more time out there tomorrow to watch my silly soaps again... Yipppiiiieee Kay Aie...we had no power today, until late this afternoon; YIppiiieeeee Kay Aye, tomorrow it all starts over again...no power, no nothing!!

We get a lot of power outages where I live. If there is load shedding then they do it in where we live and not in the tourist areas. I hate it so much. I do have a generator that I use if there is a hurricane as it is so expensive to run I cannot use it for every power outage. I would prefer to carry water in my car for the house than be without electricity. I just hate it!

Hurricane Bob is not a threat to us at all. We are getting a few shower from it but we so need the rain. Our hurricanes usually come in August or September so one more month to go!

Good grief!! What was the problem that it took all those trucks to fix it? Really now, does it take all those minds and trucks to figure it out? LOL By now I imagine it's all cleared up and everything is running smoothly but it does have me wondering, what was so bad that it took so many?!

Hi Cats: I don't really know for sure what the heck happened the other day but yeah I think every guy in town was here that works for the company doing something or "acting" like they were working or knew what the heck happened; LOL! But like I just told Cynthiann: They never did show up again the next day, and here they told me what they were doing is a temporary fix, you should see what they did to several of the poles here...its crazy... but Housing did buy some land to the NOrth of where I am living and I bet you they are hoping this temporary fix stays until they start breaking ground and run out new lines and stuff you know? They just think we "residents" have no sense of what's what here , that's not true at all...any moron can tell by looking at the poles, what they did is just hanging on by a thread a big old wind will take care of the silly sh!t fix they did...DUH!!! OH WELL so long as the power is on and working, that's all I care about, hopefully my meter is not in TRIPLE OVERDRIVE either....(sigh)! Damn thing is high enough now each month...it sucks!!

I wonder if a squirrel fried the transformer or something? I have no idea why it would take so many trucks and crews to fix one outage, but thankfully they are there, and it is nice you can at least go to your dad's. Hope tomorrow is better. Send those kids to school!!!

Ameren Ue working on poles - Trying again to get this picture to show up on my discussion!!

ARRRRGGHHH! I hate it when that happens!!!!!
HI Elic: Thanks for posting, I see my silly picture didn't show up on my discussion, GGRRR! Why does that happen? so here's one of the photo's of the guys up high working on the poles; They had six of the big trucks on six poles on my street, and some big metal transformer thing was being worked on it sits on the ground not behind my unit but in between mine and the next set of Two residents, but all of us in our units heard this crazy loud POP....very weird!!!

I can't believe it took so many trucks to get your power back on! My word! I know how you feel because I don't like to be without power, myself. I bet that loud pop did scare you! I know it would have me because I startle easily, anyway. I hope you have it back on now. I remember when our power would go out, my parents and I would think about what it was like in the old days when their was no such thing as power. They grew up without power so they knew what it was like. You tend to think about those days when these things happen, lol. It makes you wonder how people made out in those days, doesn't it? Did they ever find out what caused your power outage? Kathy.

Morning to ya Kathy; Yeah I"ve heard and grew up hearing all those same types of stories from my parents and my Father still goes on and on about those days...LOL!! I could recite them if I had too...ha!! OH you know how a bunch of men are when they gather around ....you get the run around like being a woman you'd be too stupid to understand the technicalities of what actually happened yesterday... **** SNORT*** to be honest I don't think they really know either, I really really did not see a lightning flash during the rain but it could have happened I don't know??? I just hope they get it finished up today and fixed right to last us for the weekend you know? to be without water is one thing, to be without it all is another..I guess this is my "karma" for me laughing when the "residents" last month that lived in my old crappy area lost their water for over a day...since I laughed at them and was so glad I was NOT living there anymore I guess I had to lose ALL MY POWER...?????????? who knows??? but I do hate it, yesterday was a long long long day if you know what I mean by NOT having access to do anything; Thankfully I have enough oxygen tanks and my big liquid oxygen tank to last me if need be for several more hours; and too I have extra small tanks out at the farm; My Father is on oxygen too but still...its a pain to be draggin all that crap around you know? ((hugs to you)) cross your fingers for me today that it all gets fixed PROPERLY today!!!!

HI Kathy: Those guys never did come back, I guess what they did the other day is just that a "fix" until it craps out again, and then who knows what they are gonna do, I bet you they are playing a waiting game because Housing did buy a section of land to the NOrth of me and I bet they are just gonna re do the whole sha-bang when they start breaking ground and so on you know? OH God! I am dreading that!!! stupid idiots!!!!!! I guess I can dump my extra water I have drawed up now...LOL! DUUUHHHHH!!!!!! IF YOU ARE UNPREPARED things happen, if you are somewhat prepared, then nobody shows up right? LOL! Have a great weekend, the weather here is WONDERFUL...wish I felt like enjoying it I've been sickly the last three days...major stomachache, mostly sinus drainage I think? who knows???

I used to work at Jack's Hamburgers and I know how those men are, lol! I worked there in the mornings and that was when a lot of senior citizens would come eat breakfast. You hear all the latest news, that's for sure. When I worked there, it was an election year and you knew who won the election! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Hugs! Kathy.
