Why is the complex word complex...?

let me try... probably it stemmed or became a word when there was a communication problem thus the com letters in the complex word. plex just came about from the word perplexity which is the variation of how things would be and someobdy concocted that word: complex. that's just my imagination there. you could probably look up a decent origin of that word in the net .
