Do you think the Boston Red Sox can lodge a comeback and make it to post season?  

I agree. It is always very interesting to see the Red Sox play against the Yankees. They are the team you love to hate. It is a healthy rivalry we have with them. I can't stand the Tampa Bay Rays who we were up against last year. They just seem like such an angry team and we always seemed so intimidated by them I think for that very reason. And the fans are so darn loud. I mean, I don't mind enthusiasm, but with the cowbells and the horns and the screaming and the constant change in music, it is a wonder the players are able to concentrate. That's just my opinion. Anyhow, I think we have a good shot. Terry Francona seems to be finally learning how to manage the team and not stick with a pitcher till after they have given up 6 runs like he used to do all the time with Masterson. He was always the only manager to be so patient and it used to drive me crazy. Now he is starting to make better decisions and I think this is going really help us. I am rooting for our team and have total faith in them. They are going to do it!

Sorry I've taken so long to respond to your comment, I haven't been on mylot in a while. Unfortunately you saw things pretty accurate. The Red Sox have the ability it just seems like this year they were lacking something. I have a feeling part of it has to do with nerves. They had the best record in baseball till Smoltz came. Everyone said the Red Sox had it made with Smoltz as an addition and I think everyone took this for granted. When it didn't pan out it seemed like the team imploded. Then after a good 6 to 8 weeks of mediocrity you could see that old spark in the team we know and love. Problem is that spark didn't seem to be there in the first two games of the division series. That's what makes these postseason series so difficult to watch-a whole season of hard work down the drain in just a few days. Poor Papelbon. He did fold at a critical time, but the loss was not all his fault. The Red Sox seemed really rattled when they were in LA. In the third game at Fenway the old spark was back and everything looked promising. Sad thing is that if Papelbon had not messed up, we had a good chance of winning that division series. But I doubt we would have won the World Series. The Red Sox are still a great team and there is always next year. Go Red Sox!!
