| Who do you think is the most indespensible player on the Boston Red Sox?  | | | |  Who do you think has proven themselves the most this year and has shown themselves to be a real major leager? There are so many amazing players on the team, it is difficult to come up with just one. I am torn between Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis. Both have a ton of heart, you can tell they both really love baseball and their team. Their is just something about Pedroia. I have never seen a game go by where his baseball jersey isn't covered in dirt. He is short for a baseball player, being only five foot nine. That means he has had to work all that much harder to prove himself. That's why he is my first choice although Kevin Youkilis is not far behind. With these two players, I think we can go real far. What do you guys think? What would be your choice and why?

| |  This is a tough one. I agree that Youkilis and Pedrioa are the two leaders for this question, although I have to throw Varitek in there. His numbers may not have been great last year, but he had a lot of personal stuff going on. He's done better this year. I really feel like he is the soul of this team. He usually has a calm, focused attitude. He doesn't get caught up in the hype. He just goes out there and does his job. I think all three are true "dirt dogs", and they are invaluable to the team.

| | Varitek's an interesting choice. I too think he is a much underestimated player. Much of his support comes behind the scenes and so many people don't realize his influence. He really is the heart of the team. I think he holds everyone together. He provides the emotional support and also encourages everyone. So even though he can't hit very well and isn't that good that throwing out players at the plate, I think he is very valuable. It's so hard, because every player is so valuable in their own ways. It's no one person that is going to bring us to the World Series. It is going to have to be a team effort. | | You couldn't have picked two better player than Pedroia and Youkilis. I love both of those guys. Both are very competitive. They both give 110% on and off the field. They're both out there hustling all the time. They're not afraid to get their uniforms dirty whether it's diving for ball in the field or trying to take the extra base or score. However, if there is one player who I would say is indespensible it's Josh Beckett. Granted he's not an every day player, but the Red Sox would not be where they are without him. Beckett is very similar to Pedroia and Youkilis in that he is very competitive and gives 110% when he is out there on the mound. Beckett is having a great year in terms of wins and loses. If you take away Beckett, the Sox would not be in pennant race or the race for the wild card. You can make a good case for anyone of those three individuals (Pedoia, Youkilis or Beckett). | | | | | | |

| | Becket is by far the best pitcher we have. He started out shaky but he has really come through. Becket, Lester, and Wakefield have all been phenomenal. If it weren't for Wakefield we would never have made it to our first place position in American Leage East. Anyway, it is so tough to name just one person. They are all a team that works together. That's why we haven't been doing as well this past month and a half. It's no one person. Now things are starting to come together. I am really pulling for them.
