wishing for a state funeral  

If all presidents are entitled to a state funeral then by all means Ferdinand Marcos should have had one. But if there's a law that somehow strips a president of his right to have such a funeral then there's no argument here. I'm really not knowledgeable with laws so these are all pure opinions.

of course he deserves but the Aquino's made a simple funeral it was not a state funeral. in my own opinion the Marcos' should have made the same. if they still have the pride they wouldnt be pleading for a state funeral. that is only my opinion. for me if i am a member of that family i will not ask any one any please. I will give him a funeral he deserves whether its a state funeral or not. just my views.

Well the thing is that his exit as president of our country was some kind of a not a happy ending. He was disgracefully ousted back then and I think giving him a state funeral is something a little bit late. For now I think history has already known him as a former president and I think following what the Aquino's have done, they never ask for a state funeral and chose to make theirs a simple one would be much appreciated by the people. I think it is time for Marcos to be buried for good in a much simpler way. I think that those state funerals are just for the ceremony and is not a necessary thing that each president should expect when they die.

yes i think a state funeral can be done to the late president marcos as he is still the longest serving leader in our country and so as to have reconcialition for the nation and to learn form the mistakes from the past and bury it together with the memory of marcos.

The children of Cory Aquino decided not to have a state funeral for their Mom... eventhough that is what she deserves... but then i think she more that that because of the overwhelming love and sacrifice shown by the Filipino people...

I don't think a state funeral is what Ferdinand Marcos needs... he needs to be buried because as i remember it right... his body is still on display in Ilocos... after 18 years a simple funeral will do... better than nothing at all...
