Has anyone here heard about the law suite against Wal-Mart. They apperntly didn't pay their employees everything they should have and are being sewed. Now there are alot of people and over ten states involved in this. I think it is ashame that so many people didn't get paid the right amount and that as big as the company is they messed up so bad. Makes you wonder how many other companies have done this.

I have heard about the class-action lawsuit that the associates claim that they were told to work off the clock and not given their 15 minute breaks. I am not going to say that there is no way that ever happened, but I feel that it may be a little exaggerated. It is the associates responsibilty to know when he/she came in to work, so it is their responsibility to know when they need to take their break. And I do know that there are times that a break is interrupted, but the associate is told in orientation class before they step foot on the salesfloor that if you are asked to complete a task while on break that after the task is complete you need to finish your break. And as to working off the clock that can easily be avoided by the associate informing the manager that he/she is of the clock. In most wal-mart stores there are over 300 associates, and their is no way that the managers can know each persons hours. I do believe that these allegations could've happened, but not to the extent that they say it has happened and could have been avoided.
