Do you have too much dedication to your job, or you simply fulfill 8 hours?  |

 Are you a good employee and a good worker too? Do you think that you are too much dedicated to your job, even the hours is up, you still want to stay at work, to do the best on your position? Or you simply just want to finish your work assignment of the day, and when 8 hours is up, you gotta go?
Honestly, I am not much dedicated to my job, but I try to do my best. I just want to finish my 8 hours duty, and free to go home, that is all.

Seriously, I would prefer to be a lighting designer in a theatre or even sell sandwiches. My job is only 12 hours a week, but I am not paid during recess and lunch so my days where I work 4 1/2 hours are spread out over an 8 hour day... it takes all week long to get 12 hours in and then I'm not allowed to have another job. Plus I am not paid for the time I use to prepare my classes or to grade work.
I would love another job, but I am an American in Paris and this is the only thing I have found that someone who is not a resident or an EU citizen can do.
My job can be really rewarding sometimes and sometimes the kids are wonderful, but most of the time, I just have to keep telling them to be quiet or to concentrate or yell at them for not doing their homework. I would love another job, but you do what you gotta do. If I had another choice I would do something more interesting and in my realm of expertise, but I don't, so I stick to it. | |

Another suggestion, if not many people speak English in Paris, you can teach English there. It might be a temporary solution to your money, or financial need. | |

| 3. hmrk12 (367) | 4 months ago |  Now I am working in a place which is entirely different from my interests.I will be looking for my working time to finish always as I don't have any interest in that job.Prior to that I worked in some other company of my own interest.There I used to work for more than my working hours and I have continuously worked for two shifts even.Because I had lot interest in that.But unfortunately my family had to shift from that place and I happened to enter into the company of different field.Soon I will quit it and will look for some other which suits my interests.

I do try to care and it does bother me to see some of the crumby attitudes around here but unfortunately it's easier on a person sometimes to just put in their time and not give a poop.
