Have you ever Agreed to "DisAgree" with someone.

Each of us have different point of view. That is why sometimes discussion ends up with a fight cuz each of our mind tells something and our ideas will never bumped in. Most of here also fail to accept that they are wrong and will always stand for what they believe in. Some need ideas but when you share your thoughts they hardly accept it.
I have never been to fights here though i have also posted some of my ideas that disagree to some topics. I never walk away from it or its just that i fail to check it after. Lol

Many times I have agreed to simply disagree upon an issue. Some arguments get to the point where the only way to end is to simply agree that we each have a different point of view (maybe even a little bit of a stubborn point of view?). However, I have learned that it is not usually good enough to agree to disagree. Usually I end up agreeing to disagree without being disagreeable. While there may be a very small difference between the two statements, the without being disagreeable ensures that the argument ends on good terms and not simply on two hot heads running away from a conversation.

i just don't respond at that point because i can keep it going for days on end but i just don't have time to do it, i figure it this way there is no point in fighting with people on the net because no one is going to agree so whats the point of keeping it going on and on when i will never change my mind,

I have agreed to disagree on this site a great many times.
I don't see that it is throwing in the towel but more accepting that someone has an opinion different to mine and neither of us is going to come around to the others point of view.
This is because a lot of the time a topic has no 'right' answer and what is right will often be a purely personal thing.

The subject which immediately comes to mind is one of the most hotly debated topics here....abortion.
Two people very often have utterly opposite views on this subject and I have never yet seen a single instance of one person changing their views.
The only time I have seen any agreement by both sides on this particular subject is when late term abortions are discussed.

There are other topics similar to this that will very often end up with people agreeing to disagree but abortion was the best example I could think of.

I often agree to disagree with a lot of people on religious matters. I am around a lot of people who are extremely religious, in many different ways, and I've been caught between four different branches of Christianity in my family, to the point where I'm not sure where I stand religiously. When someone tries to force something on me, I just tell them that we should agree to disagree, since I am not out to change their mind, nor should they be out to change mine.
