What do you think of the endless continuation of some movies, like Harry Potter, from the first to the seventh. Do you think it's too long or just OK!  

Dang!! I knew that there were a lot of HP movies but I didn't know that there were that many, whew!!! Yeah, as time goes on the person might have watched the film and thought that it was good when they first saw it, but later on down the road the story begains to stagnate. So the person may lose interest and move on to other avenues.
And then there are other people who can't wait for the next story to come out, can't wait for what's going to happen in the next chapter. Can't wait to see what's going to happen to the characters in the next tale. See what's going to happen to their friends! Some people just love the on going drama/saga. To me it's either you like it or you don't, me, I got my own stories I follow, and then there are other stories that I could give two hoots about.

I think if there is a movie based on a book series, they should make all of the books into films, not just one or two the way they are doing with the Chronicles of Narnia and like they did with the Series of Unfortunate Events. Even if they combine some of the books ... the Series of Unfortunate Events has 13 books and the movie was based on the first three. But they are very short books, so they could easily do it in four movies; 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10 through the end.

And then there's Harry Potter. People started complaining that there were too many movies after the fourth one. Here's the thing. Someone would complain no matter what. If they didn't make all seven books into films, someone would have screamed about that...more people than not probably. And they are actually making eight movies out of the seven books because there is so much that happens in the last book it wouldn't all fit in one 3 hour movie.

But some horror movie makers go way overboard - like the one that is starting this Friday, The Final Destination...4? Really? The story ended with the first movie! Or Saw...there are supposed to be seven of them total but I've heard if they get enough response from the last two they'll keep making them until people stop watching them. Quit while you're ahead. Because chances are the last one (whether it's #7 or #77) will be a flop and you'll be halfway through filming (and all the way through budget) on the next one expecting a blockbuster.

If the story is different in every sequel, like Star Wars, The Godfateher, LOTR, or HP series then I don't mind if they released sequels, trilogy, tetralogy etc. I feel today there are too many movies that been made a sequel, but only for the money, meanwhile the quality decreased in every sequels they made, such as Saw, Fantastic Four, The Ring etc. Sometimes a movie should never be made a sequel and just leave it to be a classic single movie, like Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, or Legally Blonde.The sequel was ruining the legacy of the first movie.
