What's a good brush for a cat?  email this discussion to a friend?

I recently rescued a big short haired tabby from the local kill shelter. He is a lovebug. I named him Sugardaddy. He has been with me one entire day and already my apartment is covered in what looks to be undercoat hairs. What's the best brush out there? In my haste I bought the "Furminator" online. Is it a good product? Any other recommendations?

I have tewo cats that are completely different in everyway. It really depend on what kind of coat your cat has. My female cat has a thick thick coat, so the furminator does not work for her. We have to use a thin dog brush for her. however my male cat has a more common thinner coat that the furminator works wonderful on. We didnt want to spend to much on a brush so we bought the off brand and it works wonderful.
