Should Michael Vick be allowed to play in the NFL? |
| |
| Yes, Michael served his time and made his apologies, but did he do this only so he can play again. I'm sorry but anyone that can treat animals the way he did has something wrong with them. I'm not sure he should be in the public eye and be a role model for our kids. | | | | | |

| | Hi kmpierce. YES he should play again in the NFL. Its like you are saying hip hop artist and actors should not do their job anymore. You have a to understand everyone is not perfect and everyone makes mistakes. He made is mistakes and he did his time for it so it's time for him to move on. If you made a mistake like what he did and you did you time, I think you would want to get a second chance in life as well....I THINK THAT ANSWER IS YES...so leave the guy alone for Christ sake. That's like when micheal jackson died...everybody still had bad to say about the man even though he was dead. | | | | | | |

| | Yes he should be able to play in the NFL again and I certainly enjoyed watching him last night when the crown stood up and applaused for him when he got into his first game yesterday. After all he did serve his time like a normal person and I believe he is a changed man after he has been jail for two years. No I do not like what he did because I really like animals but that is in the past and I think everybody should just let it be and leave him alone. Think about it this is his career and he does have a family to support. lets say you have a family member and they do a bad crime like this and they have to serve jail time. Now when they get out of jail they are not allowed to go back to their career and must start their life over again and they do not get a second chance. Now wouldn't you want to fight for them to get a second chance. I know I would. Everybody makes mistakes in their lives and should be given a second chance in life. Now if he did something stupid like this again then no he shouldn't be given another chance and should be booted out of the NFL. But I think he is a changed person and won't be that dumb to do another crime. As for the Plexico Burress incident I think it was a little stiff for him to get 2 years in jail. I think he should of got a 1000 hours of community service and be suspended from the NFL for one year and also be set on probation for a couple of years. Yes it was stupid to bring a gun in your pants to a club but after all he did kill anybody or harm anybody so I think it is a little ridiculus. But luckily for him the NFL commissioner already said that he is welcome to come back to the NFL when he has served his time in which I think that is good for him. | | | | | | |

| | He broke the law and served his time. To ME, it shouldn't matter if he apologized or not. Apologizing isn't required after you've committed a crime, plead guilty and served the required time. I don't get how some players can hurt, harm or even kill other humans and not have as hard a time as Vick has for what he did to a bunch of dogs. Was it wrong, sure. But we seem to have demonized him for something I see as much less a crime than Dante Stallworth or Ray Lewis. | | | | | | |

| | I totally agree, he did serve his time. However, there are others that have been suspended for much longer and didn't do as much as he did. | | | |

| | You are right about that, but there are others that did just as bad or worse and never had to pay for what they did at all. I'm not a Michael Vick fan by any means. I'm just saying that at least he did have to pay for what he did. It is not right that some people have to pay a higher price for what they do, which isn't as bad, and others don't have to pay at all. It definitely isn't fair, and there should be more conformity in consequences not only in the justice system but also in professional sports. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening any time in the near future. | | | |

| | Yes he should. He did something illegal in this country. For that illegal deed there was a consequence. He has since served his time and paid the consequences for his action. The embarrassment, shame and substantial loss of money he has had to endure, should already be enough. As someone noted, there have been people that did much worse and received less of a consequence. Dante Stallworth basically killed someone and got away with it. I also think that we shouldn't expect athlestes to always be role models, especially in the midst of the temtation they live within. If they choose to make a conscious decion towards being a good role model, well more power to them. There is so much stuff going on behind the scenes in the NFL that would make Mike Vicks crime look minute. | | | | | | |
