London was one of the most expensive cities to live in the world. However the pound was down a lot this year, so according to the newest statistics London is not in the top 10 expensive city any more.
But it’s still expensive city compared to other cities of the UK. To my understanding the expensive sides of London are listed below:
The estate price and the traffic cost. It’s very hard for ordinary person to own a flat or house in this city. No matter you drive your car or take public transport the cost is still high. However the food price in London is not as high as we think. Sometimes I even think it’s cheaper than some area of England.

London is the most expensive city in the world. I can't imagine moving into a new country as expensive like that. It will cost me a big fortune if ever I do that! The living costs in London is not only expensive, its also not easy to get a high-paying job there. If I want to live in a first world country, maybe I will choose either Hong Kong or Singapore as I have been there a couple of times. If you want to save more money, maybe you should try to live in an Asian country either in China or in the Philippines.

No I looked and it's number 10 on the list and at that they said central London so maybe the suburbs will be cheaper. I don't know where you are moving from but I do know big cities have many opportunities for living on the cheap. Good Luck
