Absolutely! Just one reality show would be too many for me. And as far as being interested in them, I, for one am not. I do not watch them and when they come on I change channels. Now, I'm not saying I never watched them because if I hadn't I would not be qualified to comment on them. It didn't take me long to realize that there was no entertainment value in watching someone else's life fall apart.

Personally I think whoever invented reality TV shows should be Shot!
I hate them so much and I think our TV is so much full of this crap that I don't even watch telly anymore these days. It's not even reality because all the crap they do and show doesn't happen that way in real life. They should call unscripted tv.

Now now Jelly! It's that "round 'em all up and shoot 'em" behavior that keeps the producers puttin more and more of that junk out there. Actually I think you mean it should be called "Scripted TV" since it's clearly obvious now. Fortunately, it's mostly on one or two channels and we just block those.

Yes there are to many, and most only last a season or two.. remember that Return to Gilligans Island? and the one where they always ate bugs and did things really gross...forget the name of that one. That I'm a Celebrity get me out of here! one is so stupid... I guess some watch if they've never seen, but once seen, they don't go back. But then there are those that stay - Survivor, Amazing Race, Idol etc. I only watch Survivor...albeit that one is getting ridiculous as they have been tending to focus on the bickering and arguing and stuff like that, instead of hte daily life of living in the middle of nowhere with nothing.. like they did the first couple seasons. Now there is no talent to it.. it is just who can either slide in under the wire and who can berate or lie the best!!!!

Yes, I do think there are way to many reality TV shows on the air now a days. This is because many people love them, and keep watching them over and over, so the show gets a good popularity rate and they will keep airing that show due to the great number ratings. Although I can see why some people like Survivor, or the Bachelor, some shows are just so fake that I cannot even understand why people watch them. Some people have different interests than others, but some of these reality shows are becoming why to fake and unrealistic. One thing I am very angry about is that reality TV took up MTV. MTV used to always play and show music videos. Now, for the most part, it strictly plays reality shows that keep getting a great user rating, which means they will keep airing. I like the old days when MTV was videos! I also think most people liked it that way as well. The majority of the reality TV shows now a days are watched by women across the US, but some men do like these also. I hope we can cut down on reality TV shows so we can get some of our original channels back, such as MTV! Another main reason why people are so interested in reality TV shows is because it's based on true life values, and what people do for real, rather than fiction.

For the most part I agree with you. I want to believe that many don't believe our values have this far down in the hole. This is something the current generation has definitely started and I hope it fades out before the next. It's a sad thing.
I can remember the first day MTV aired. I watched it about 3 hours and brought a couple records as a result of the videos. Do you remember records...those flat round vinyl thingies about 10-12 inches in diameter and played music?
Cheers,
Stan
