I need an apartment for me in my kids in nyc....

I am low income. I only receive Social Security for my daughter. I don't receive Food Stamps or Medicaid yet. I will apply this week. I was attending college for criminal justice but I want to get out and transfer my credits into an acting academy it has been a dream I have put off for too long. I need stability right now. I have moved back and forth between my parents place ended up in shelters and got out because it was too much to bear for the kids. I need a place. Please help me? Where should I look?

How many kids do you have? There are no cheap apartments in NYC. Starting rents in Manhattan are 1500 a month. A Section 8 apartment is very hard to come by in Manhattan. You might want to consider check out the other outer boroughs.
