Do you agree that songs from yesterday is better than today?

I have heard so many people comparing the quality of songs that we have from yesterday and today. Most of them said that the songs of today is more meaningless, insignificant and others completely absurd. While others said that today's songs are real, and only expressed emotions of today's generations and that older people can't get along. Would you agree with those debating thoughts? What do you think does music from yesterday differ from today?
