What documents are considered valid proof of address? |
|
Hello mylotters. This question is for Filipinos. What documents are considered proof of address? Is proof of address the same as proof of billing? Can I use my passport as proof of address? I'm having a hard time gathering all the documents that I need for a certain subscription, and your answer would help me a lot. Thanks.

1. jaiho2009 (1431) | 4 months ago | Passport is always the number one requirements when processing any transactions.could it be business or bank transactions. Yes,proof of billing such as MERALCO,NAWASA,INTERNET can be used also and also a valid docu... And if you have other ID's such as SSS,POSTAL ID,TIN as long as those ID's were indicating your present address,it is valid proofs. But if your transaction is asking your proof of address, then,i guess proof of billing is much applicable.(meralco, nawasa, pldt, smartbro etc)

angelajoy (981) | 4 months ago | Oh drat. I was hoping that I could use my passport. But I didn't know about the barangay certificate. From what I've heard, it's pretty easy to get one provided that you have government IDs. Thank god I have those! Thanks for your detailed reply and happy mylotting!

3. spoiledbrat802 (3595) | 4 months ago | msfransisco (above) basically answered your query. I'll just add one option if you don't have any of what she said. You can execute an affidavit and have it notarized by a notary public (lawyer). Anything notarized can stand on its own because it is a legally binding document whose veracity can be assailed in court.

angelajoy (981) | 4 months ago | Hello there spoiledbrat. I didn't know that I could use an affidavit, so thanks for giving me that tip. The only problem is I don't know the affidavit format. I guess I'll just have to search for it on the Internet. There's bound to be lots of affidavit formats there.

spoiledbrat802 (3595) | 4 months ago | You don't need to personally write an affidavit. Just go to your lawyer and the lawyer will prepare it for you and the only thing you'll have to do is sign the document. An affidavit is a perfect companion for a proof of billing that isn't in your name. You can basically submit a proof of billing in your relative's name then attach a notarized affidavit that states you live in the same house reflected in that proof of billing. Like if your phone bill is in your sister's name but you both live in the same house, you can use that bill then just attach a notarized affidavit and that would be acceptable.

angelajoy (981) | 4 months ago | Hello homeshoppers! Your answer perfectly relates to my problem. I have a regular job, but the bills at home are under my mother's name. But I have other documents that would validate that I also live in the same house, so I hope that they would be enough.
