Need help with choosing mp3 player | | Hi guys, my old mp3 player (Creative Muvo=w=) is hardly working right now so I thought I should buy something new. My ideal player would be small so I could run with it and minimum 4gb for music. Can you recommend me anything? I don't need big screen, I don't intend to use it for anything more than listening to the music. I've heard sansa and sony has the best sound quality, do you have any experience with them?

I can't remember the model name, but I'm sure with some research that it wouldn't be difficult to find. It comes with a stopwatch and many of the features that most MP3 players do, except that it does not come equippped with a voice recorder. RCA opals are good and slimline, but not good for running because they're a bit lengthy. The sports models are small, a little bigger than an American 50 cent piece. I paid $39.99 for mine and haven't had problems with it in the year that I've had it. I believe that mine in particular is 1G in storage size. These two both charge from USB, but only seem to get about 3 hours of play time before they have to be recharged again, not the claimed 15 hour time thats on the package.
I haven't tried a Sony brand.
Sansas are okay. The model that I have is small and light.. very light... I would be afraid to use it while running because I probably wouldn't realize that it's dropped until the headphones tugged off.. lol .. I own two different models of these.. One that is more of a square shape (I've had minor problems with this one) and a rectangle one. I paid $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. Both use a AA battery to operate. I use Energizer rechargeables, and seem to get a good 5-6 hour play time before they need to be recharged. One uses USB cable, while the other is a direct plug in. They are both extremely light weight, but do come with a belt clip. I don't recommend belt clip devices for running or jogging because fabric bunching can cause the clips to slip loose. The problem that I had with my 1G Sansa is that I had a corrupt sound file that I initially wasn't aware of, and eventually most of my songs wouldn't play so I had to reinstall all.
Both the Sansa and RCA model come with their own software and are plug n play. Both brands also come in larger memory sizes. With either brand, if you like to have your sound*BLASTING*, I would recommend purchasing a more expensive set of headphones or buds. Overall, I would recommend the RCA "sport" model, but it really may come down to simply how you like the feel of where you would be placing them when in use.
The downside is that neither have an instant "Delete" function... it has to be done using a computer through the USB hookup.
