Have you ever had one of those OBEs or Out of body experiences? Do tell!

This is something that just came to my mind and I thought that I would share my experience. The images that I have in my mind are vague and this took place in the early years of my childhood and so I'm probably thinking that yes, it was definitely an out of body experience! Anyway, I remember being at this swimming pool and it all happened so quickly but, I fell in and then there was nothing! I didn't feel cold, frightened or anything like that. I was under the water and I remember seeing myself under the water just floating there! The image that I recall was perhaps five seconds if I was to give it a time frame. It was suddenly all over after that. So what happened? Did I have an out of body experience? From other people's stories that I have read I'm thinking that this was a definite occurance. Does this take place when you experience sudden trauma or something similar? I'm surprised that I still remember this like I said though, it was probably about five seconds max! So, have you ever had a similar experience? Andrew

I remember when I would be asleep and be 'floating' on my belly around the inside of the house, I remember one time in particular I wanted to see what was on top of the refrigerator and floated over it to see. I asked my mom later what was up there and just about everything I seen was what she said was there.
It happened a lot, I wasn't very old, maybe between the ages of 4-7.
Wish I could still do that!!
I think maybe we're born with certain things we can do and we lose it as we age or just forgot how to do it....

Hi mzz662, well that's really some experience that you had there. I have been looking into that idea and I guess there's another name for it as well, Astral Travel. Some people say that you can train yourself to do this and I must admit I have tried but I have never been successful with it. I would find it very difficult to achieve total body relaxation, something that needs to take place before you can event think about deaparting your physical self! I would love to learn this ability and I have been looking at a lot of websites on the subject. Well, there you have it. Nice talking with you. Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I think now that you've given it a name for me, I'll take a look around and see what I can find out about it. If I'm able to ever do it again, I'm not sure what I would want to go do....I'm old enough now that even though I can't really see the top of the refrigerator, I can go get a chair and check it out!

I have often wondered and read about this Andrew. I haven't had any experiences but have read about people who have. There are those of who have expereinced and believe and the others who don't. I'm one who finds the subject interesting and would like to know more.

Hi alokn99. How are you? I also have read quite a few books on this subject and there's just so much mystery attached to this topic. My experience in the past was the first and last one that I have ever encountered. I think that when something like this happens to you it gives you a kind of hope that yes, there's perhaps something more after this life. Anyway, there is so much information on this subject online.
