dogs are nuisance?

Well I would say it's either time to get another dog, not have a dog at all or take the time to train your dog not to jump.:)

My son got a dog from the SPCA and she had been abused. She also loves people and wants to jump all over them. It took me about a month of not allowing her to jump and now she doesn't jump.

With dogs it's a matter of being firm so they learn, without hurting the dog of course and plenty of treats while they are learning.

My son complained for about a year that she wouldn't stop jumping before he moved back home and in about a month she stopped jumping on everyone but him because he wouldn't stay firm with her.

Annoying? Wow, you must really dislike your dog then. How do you want the animal to react when seeing you after a period of absence? Are you even seerious on starting on this thread? Someone should report you to PETA...

I love it when my doggie wants a hug when I come home. Or when I've been in the shower a while! ha ha It means she values my company, and to me that's the best compliment you can get. If you take the time to properly train your dog then they will behave the way you wish them to. Evaluate your schedule, call a trainer and discuss the best way to teach your dog to not jump up. Dogs are very smart, but the person needs to be patient and consistent with the commands. Rent a book or training video from the library, you can download e-books even, and teach yourself to be a good person. Then teach your dog to be a good dog.

Good person= good dog.

I am not sure how you want your pet to respond to you, but I love it when I get home and my dog is happy to see me. Its one of the reasons I am a dog person, they are always so happy to see you and they always show unconditional love to their owners. However, she does know that unless I pet my leg, then she knows she is not allowed to jump on people.
