Family Trees

If you have a library system, you may want to check out some books on family trees, etc. I know that if you go on the internet, there are many sites just waiting to take your money. That is why I suggest looking in the library first or just going to a book store and browsing through the subject to see what books look good. www.amazon.com may be a good place to just start looking for books and ideas by just putting "family tree" into their search bar. You can read the ratings on each product and see if anything hits the spot.

In the meantime, I would not only ask your mother and father but aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins. Anyone that you may be remotely related to for information. It sounds as if you have already tried that but maybe even going to your town history would give some information. I do not know if you can check immigration records. In the U.S. many came here that did not want to tell about their past. This may be part of the problem. Maybe you could even put in your surname and search for people in other countries with it. That may give a clue as to what area of the world your family may come from.

I've had some pretty good luck with ancestry.com. They have some free areas which are helpful and well as a much more extensive way to search if you want to pay. I found a couple of nieces I didn't know I had while on the message boards there. Since you're in Australia, you could also check for geneology sites specific to there. Church and cemetery records might be a place to check. Good luck in your search!

Oh, I do have a sort of famous relative. Well, she isn't famous herself, but her work is. lol. You know the school flag patrols, the kids who have flags to stop traffic at corners so other kids can cross the street? My dad's cousin was the one who came up with that. Her name was Sister Carmela Hanggi, and she started the school patrol to help the kids cross the street to go to daily Mass at St. Paul Cathedral from the Cathedral school.

this stuff really looks cool generally i heard it from my granny and as i know until now there might be no such tool or program available. my family tree is there on a big chart of canvas with uneraseble paint on it. i hope you too make one of your family
