It is only recently that chinese farmers can join pension programs. They had to work at old ages, and depend on sons to support them. The program is still on tryout phase. At least they see some light for the future.
Could you share how your farmers arrange their old age life? Thanks in advance.

It's a historical progress in China, though a little late. But I doubt whether they could get enough pension for many government officals are highly corrupt.

Farmer here are have a little support from the government. Sometimes they are left behind I don't if the government give them pension here. I think they don't have any pension coming from the government if they are not a member of SSS or GSIS they are not privelege to have retirement benefits.

Thanks for responding. Most parents have to depend on their children. At least some steps forward.

I knew the news. Farmers in China are leading a much better life than ever before. I was born in a rural family. Two decades ago, my family made little money by growing crops and had to pay really heavay taxes. So my father tried his very best for a non-agricultural HUKOU. Now I live in the city of Chengdu after graduation from my college. Sometimes I regret for my new HUKOU. I envy those farmers and missed my old days spent in the countryside....
