I have heard that high cholesterol is not only a diet derived illness, but that it is also of genetic causes. There are some people who eay only lettuce and cholesterol doesn´t go up. Anyway, it´s a good idea to check it because, besides a diet, there are medications to lower it.

I was told that high cholesterol can cause mal-absorption of nutrients. I took an Rx for a couple of months to lower mine. But now I control it with diet and exercise. I also take some herbal supplements.

Regular sustained rapid walking or cycling or swimming reduces LDL (Bad choleterol) and increases HDL (Good cholesterol) naturally. The duration of the workout should be at least 45 minutes. Chewing a cinnamon stick and a couple of cloves also helps to maintain proper levels of cholesterol. A physicians advice is necessary regarding exercise to optimize the levels of aerobic activity. Good health often comes free!
