The key to earning on squidoo is traffic with a capital T. My lenses are starting to get all kinds of hits from google directly because of squidoo. I love earning on the net. Good luck with your journey.

Squidoo takes a lot of time so its probably best if you stick with mylot.

The best I can do now is link my lenses to blogs and run small ads. I cant improve the lenses any more, nothing to add. I have same issue with ehow. I just want to upload videos but I have to write out everything just to submit videos. The stuff I want to write about no one is interested anyway. I write romance stories and no site is paying for those.

I link everything I do to everthing else I do....and still not much on blogs, Squidoo or AC!!! Guess I don't have any to talk about that others want to read!!!
Talk about between a rock and hard spot!

I just started linking all my lenses to other websites. Cant tell you why it took me so long to think of this. Like I said, I spend most of my time updating my lenses to make sure nothing has changed or just coming up with new ideas. $40 thats a great accomplishment! I am no where near that amount. The bulk of my income is from ptc sites although a lot of people have given up on them it works for me.

We all have to do what works for us. One thing may work for one person, may not work for another. $40 is still not a whole lot and I really would love to make more money there. There are alot of members whom make more than that and I still like to see me to make more. The real money is with affiliate sales. Sometimes I get so tired chasing rank. One month, I may be up and another I be down. There is way to much competition when it comes to rank and really they need to do something different or make some more paying tiers. Each day, they get more and more lenses made. I used to make a new lens each day. Now its slowed down. Some weeks I may have only written one or two lenses and other weeks it may be more. This week, I am working on 4 lenses, but they all are related to each other. More lenses you have, the more potential to make money on the site.

So what made you give up if you dont mind me asking?

You hit the bullseye with this comment! Just because your lens got all record highs on traffic one day does not guarantee for lifetime. If you have a hot topic, the will keep coming back.

I gave up on groups long ago. Just dont have the time any more. I spend my time keeping my lenses updated, making sure my banners work and trying to get traffic to them. Thats a full time job my friend.

I found that groups DO NOT drive any traffic to your lenses. The only thing that groups can do for you is send the odd Squidooite to your lens who MAY rank your lens.

One of the things you have to understand is where do you want your traffic to come from. Traffic from within Squidoo will NOT earn you any income, but may increase your lens rank. All lens rank does is determine how much advertising revenue you are entitled to. Lens rank has nothing whatsoever to do with search engine rankings.

Unfortunately, nearly all of lens promotion is down to you. Groups will not promote your lenses. But you are on the right track with promoting your lenses on facebook and twitter. One of the best ways of promoting your lens is with forums but that is very time consuming as most forums won't let you promote your lens outright, but they will let you promote it as a response to a thread.

I am trying my best & do realise that it can & is like a full time job on it's own just to promote...I will get there no matter how long it takes me.

Arizona, I totally agree with you. Joining groups gets other squids to visit your lens and sometimes rate it, but thats about it. Its just like traffic exchanges, everyone is there for the same reason, to promote their lens, not buy anything from me. With anything, you have to go outside the circle, to get real visitors.

Moonchild, as long as you continue to try, thats better than doing nothing. WE both will get there some day!

Have you tried squidoo yourself? Unless you are clicking, its hard to make online, period.

And it takes time and patience to get the hang of the site. Its not an easy money making type of site. You have to work hard to make money there. It took me a few months before I had started to see some money from there. I started out making a few bucks from the site and as I made more lenses, it went up. Last month I made $40 from them from adsense and amazon sales.
