Emphysema COPD

In January of this year I became very breathless. A 10 minute walk was taking me up to 45 mminutes, so I went to my GP. I was told I had Asthma, although I had never had this before and was now 49. Every 3 days I continued to go to my GP, for one whole month, by which time I collapsed. I was on life-support for 10 days and in ICU for 15. The diagnosis was COPD Emphysema.
I am wondering if there r others out there with this lung condition. I really could do with some support and a litttle help at the moment.
