What a sad ending!

titanic got so many awards and appreciations just because of the climax. if jack wouldnt have died, the story would have been uninteresting. isnt?

it was the sadest ending i have ever seen in any movie. the most touching part was when the hero goes in the depth of the frozen water, my heart throbed and pained while watching the scene. The whole night i was sad and thinking about the end.
i never wanted that the hero dies like that as he was my fav. actor.

If I had written Titanic, it would have had a much different romantic ending. I would have let both Rose and jack survive. I would have given their love a happy forever after.

Titanic is a true story so the ending cannot be considered as sad as it is the reality.......

lol it was certainly a sad ending, things are predestined we have to face the good as well as the bad, we don't have control on them, keep sharing your thoughts, cheers, happy postings

Yes, the Titanic ended sadly. It tore at your heartstrings to see Jack die in the icy waters. Although Jack and Rose were fictional characters, the sinking of the Titanic was true. Letting Jack die was a necessary component to illustrate the horrific and unnecessary loss of lives during the sinking of Titanic due to overconfidence and lack of safety precautions. The heart wrenching that you felt was purposely designed so you could experience empathy for those persons who lost loved ones in the sinking of the Titanic and appreciate more fully the tragedy.
