Would you like to retire in your own country? or somewhere else?

If given a chance to live or retire in another country, would you? Or would you settle in your own native land? Although there are far better places than my country, I still believe living near everyone you love is still the best thing for me. How about you? if you choose other country where and why? if your native land, why?

My home country has four seasons and winter is cold. I would therefore prefer to retire abroad. I will have to wait until I am older to make a decision. I have a 14 year old son, a 2 year old son and an 11 week old daughter at the moment. My toddler son is disabled so I will have to consider what he will be like when he is grown up. I imagine Belize would be a great place for me to retire to. It is a tropical country. They speak English there but it is close to the Spanish speaking countries in Central America. I love snorkeling around colorful coral. I think the warm climate would be delightful for me in my old age.

I like to travel in vacations, but I really like to be in my nest. My two daughters are nearby. I act as babysitter for the youngest once in a while and we hug and fight often. If I could, by some miracle, still see my family once in a while, maybe I´d like to live part time in a sunny place like the Caribbean. But only for Winter. I like my house, my garden ,that beast that eats my newspaper. Thinking it over, it is hard for me even to sell my house and buy one nextdoor. I have tried in theory to do it because my house is too big for me, but it implies too much work. So here I am, an here I will stay. Happy posting!

I would like to retire in Shangrila - If I can't find that place, supposedly tucked away in a remote mountain paradise, then I'll find another Shangrila, or create one -

Certainly, I prefer to settle it in my native land.
