How many times you have ever used some painkillers and infusions to dominate severe and chronic pain... and what kind of painkillers do you prefer mostly.

I don't think it is good to be so dependent to painkillers, but I didn't say that you're wrong if you're doing it. I mean, I could understand how it feels when you have to deal with the great pain, you cannot handle anymore. One of my friend have some trouble with her head and she get migraine almost everyday. She is really dependent to painkillers because if she doesn't take the pills she couldn't do any activity, she couldn't work and study.
I don't know what kind of painkiller she takes but I think all drugs are the same. They're good when you need it but excessive usage would be bad for your health. I hope you take them wisely so you don't damage your body yourself.

I take Aspirin every day, for chronic migraine headaches.
I do not like having to, but i cannot stand to have a headache, or aches and pains, so if a pill will cure it, i take one..rolleyes

tramadol. it is used for mild pain. loratab, vicoden, percocet, and especially oxy cotin are a much more stronger pain killer. they are all addictive of course and alot of people get addicted to them to get high. tramadol of course has little to no street value anyone will tell you after taking it for a while it seems useless. loratab is a highly used narcotic pain killer a lot of doctor's i believe may prescribe these too easily for patients and the oxy cotin is extremely dangerous many people have died because of it's effects. i once heard that oxy cotin is only given to those people who are dying from a deadly disease such as cancer, yet there are people who use them to get high i have even heard of people snorting pain pills and that is also very dangerous many of these pills are time released and it has a much higher effect when you snort them. i don't think many people think about the seriousness of this until it's too late. i believe it is very hard to get off these pills and i also believe it is a multibillion dollar industry who profits you know and who loses. life's a b ch.

I agree that is quite ashame the amount of people out there that misuse their pain medications and even worse obtain them and use them incorrectly, especially OxyCotin. I have very mixed feelings about pain medication. I, unfortunately, am on quite a few medications, including oxycontin, norco, neurontin, valium, and baclofen. The sad thing with pain meds is that your body adjusts very quickly to the dosages. Unless it is just me! For me, personally, when I first started taking oxycontin, it helped immensely for about about a month, however, now it just takes the edge of my pain, and that is including every else I am on. I think that is one of the scary parts of pain pills. Your body adjusts or becomes tolerant, and then it takes higher doses to help. (I am one of those people that are actually quite tolerant to pain medications) Then you are just stuck in a horrible circle. I started to wean off of it, and it is extremely difficult. I don't feel that I am addicted to it. I don't feel that I HAVE to have it, but I will admit the physical components do suck. I do get sick to my stomach if I go past the time I am supposed to take it, and weaning down to three pills a day from 6, left me with hot flashes and irritability. If you have a choice, I would personally only resort to the oxycontin if it is absolutely necessary. I am unfortunately one of those people that if I didn't have the pain medications, I would not be able to function, and even with, I still struggle with day to day tasks. I have a horrible back, and am still recuperating from my second back surgery, a two-level fusion with some bone spurs removed at another level. But, I am determined to get off the oxycontin, because it is not good for you, and I know the longer you are on it the more difficult I think it becomes to get off of it. Martyjay09, I do agree with you that this is a multi billion industry and it is the pharmaceutical companies that profit. We live in a society that believes each time we go to the doctor with an ailment we want a "pill" to fix it. Sadly, I do think doctors tend to over prescribe medications, and I am sure the physicians probably get nice kick backs from promoting the latest "remedies."

i prefer to use the non-steroidal anti-inflammatories... i believe they help me achieve the relief from pain without the addictive affects.. if i feel so much pain, i take a tablet round the clock... every four to six hours to make sure i do not feel even a bit pain,, then i slowly wean off by increasing the time gap..
