you can try reading "the chronicles of narnia" or "bridge to terabithia".both the books are not related to magic exactly but are excellent fantasy books and worth a read:)

you may try the small stories or night stories where many small stories are given.they are good to read,give us lessons and are great in terms of the story line thats why they are famous enough.
Otherwise try the scary books like Vikram vaital or try something different like the treasure island.

You can try the Charlie Bone series, which is a little on the easy side, but still a great series that's similar to Harry Potter. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is another awesome series about Greek myths and adventure, and it'll definitely appeal to Harry Potter fans. Also, another seris I recommend is the Pendragon series. It's not magic related, but it is fantasy, and the plot is very captivating, just like Harry Potter!:)

Have you tried A Series of Unfortunate Events, it's not really a Harry Potter-like series but personally, I think it is a good read.

You can also try Vampire Diaries if you like vamp stories, it is more of a cheesy love story though*grins*.

I found a book in an online shop in Multiply which looks exactly like a Harry Potter cover but I just can't seem to remember the title, I didn't get the said book as the store doesn't carry the Book 2. I have no real idea about the storyline and its plots but I guess, the cover itself tells a great deal.
