Ugh I am so tired of all these animals. Don't get me wrong they are spoiled rotten to the core and get better care than I do, but they are frustrating.
We moved back in April and one of the bird cages we moved has the ability to be tall or short. We put 2 of my husbands love birds in the short cage with every intention of making it large again (the short cage is more than big enough, but we don't' want them to be cramped). After everything was unpacked, I went to make the cage large again and couldn't find the clips. By chance I found the clips Wednesday. Between Dr visits, sick kids, ect I haven't had a chance to change the cage size and figured that we could do it tomorrow since hubby will be home and well they are HIS birds.
This cage happens to be right next to my computer. I look at the cage and the top is dented in. Either the birds got bored and tried to escape by breaking a plastic clip OR one of the cats sat on top of the cage and it broke (which I could happen, but I don't think it did, the cage is really sturdy).
Of course, the cage is one that is not made in the US. Like most cages it is from the UK and even if I could get a replacement roof it would take days to get here. If I go buy the same cage from petsmart, its like $50 for the small cage.
Either way, I have to leave the house. Right now the cat is keeping the birds in (She is sleeping on top of the cage on a blanket). As soon as she moves, they can easily get out.
Why can't this stuff happen when my husband is home?
