bubblepink (439) | 3 months ago | @tulog - I don't like Boracay. I'd rather go to Bohol, Pagudpod or Palawan if I want to stay at the Beach.:D @yugasini - It's good to hear that you would consider visiting here in our country. I hope you can grab some time/opportunity to visit here:)

| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | @bubblepink yup it only shows that philippines has a lot of beaches to choose from and i agree with you that the beaches in bohol, palawan and pagudpud is at par with boracay or maybe there is no point of comparison because each of the beaches have their own unique beauty and charm. and i've been to all the beaches you've mentioned and its really worth a visit:)

3. kykidd (4555) | 3 months ago | I just arrived home from my first trip to the Philippines on Monday. It was a very unique country, unlike any place that I have ever visited before.
I only got to visit Manila, Angeles City, and the Clark Air Force Base. The Clark Air Force Base was very beautiful. We had a buffet breakfast there one day, and it had everything from fresh squeezed watermelon juice to fresh made Filipino cuisine.
There was a number of different foods that I saw while I was there, that are unique to the country, like balut. I also was able to visit the meat market one day. Or should I say one morning, since you had to be there at 2:00 am to get the freshest meats.
It was an experience that I will never forget!

| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | thanks kykidd for visiting the philippines and I'm happy that you've enjoyed your stay in Manila and Angeles City. Did you try balut? it was featured in many show in Discovery Channel Travel and Living. and you are right if you want to get the freshest meats you have to be in the market as early as 2:00 am. I hope you will come back!!!

4. Simon1223 (276) | 3 months ago | It's a pity that I've never been to Philippines before. But many friends who visited there said the sceneries are very beautiful. So I'm quite interested in enjoying my vacations there in the future. Maybe you could recommend me some places worth visiting. By the way, do you think it's necessary to join a tourist group for the first time? I could speak some English which is enough for daily communication. Would I be in trouble if I visit there by myself?

| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | there are a lot of places here that you'll definitely love to see. as I've mentioned in my earlier post we have a lot of beautiful beaches to offer. if you want to see the scenic view of the countryside you can visit sagada in the mountain province or baguio.
in my travels I always saw and meet backpackers from different countries i guess its ok to travel alone, if you are the adventurous type. or as what you've said you can join in the tourist group.

5. uchihaseymour (346) | 3 months ago | mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines! here you can see a lot of beaches in the country. ehehe there are also places here that you can stay for a vacation and many more. i suggest you to go to Cebu or in the mid part of the country in the Visayas region.:) there you can enjoy beautiful scenery and nice beach spots:D
| |
| |
| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | That's true uchihaseymour i have been to cebu and really enjoyed my stay there. 5 days is not enough. there are a lot of beautiful places to see and activities to do. I was awed by the beauty of Malapascua Island, it has sugary fine white sand and turquoise blue water. you can snorkel all day and even dive because its one of the most frequently visited by divers who are looking for thresher sharks.

uchihaseymour (346) | 3 months ago | hehe yes, here in davao if you visit and have a vacation, the tourists MUST eat our Durian^_^
| |
| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | definitely i would try to eat durian. I'm not sure if I'm going to like it though. i tried eating the durian candy and it taste good but i don't know how the real fruit taste like. one things for sure i wouldn't like to smell it.
| |
involved62 (631) | 3 months ago | Durian stinks? Maybe a bit. Once you get used to it, you will start to love it and will even start looking for the smell. Try to eat some durian candies first, durian ice-cream (do they still make it, Magnolia?) or a durian shake before moving to the real, serious stuff.
| |
| tulog09 (50) | 3 months ago | okay you have convinced me i will try to eat it once i visit davao. i'll follow your suggestion i'll try the candies first then the ice cream and if lastly the durian fruit like what andrew zimmern said if it looks good eat it.
