I hate to disagree and do not mean to argue but Dell does not manufacture laptops for the consumer. Refer to http://www.mindconnection... for a quick read. Google an outfit called Clevo and read about Compal (not Compaq) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compal_Electronics. . Not even Apple makes a 100% Apple product. Do they not use Intel processors and Motherboards? The deciding factors in a laptop purchase are the users budget, what the user will be doing, hardware functionality, weight of the product and design. Thanks

Sony is good, but don't go for dell, If my college about 30 students bought HP. And after one month three laptops have motherboard problem. 5 have problem with their charger, 2 with the batteries, and some other problems too. When, I have worked on A hp, I found it really disappointing. The didn't even provided apt services and the laptops were not returned for two months, except for the chargers that were told to be short circuited due to user's mistake. I hate Hp since that day.

Acer, too is good. For, they provide you good laptops for fair price. But, not very stylish.

I have to agree with James, some other Hp users also informed me about the problems they are facing with the HP laptop. What I have heard is, that HP, never change their laptops, even when the user is having a serious problem. Once you buy a HP lap top, you are doomed for life.

I wanna buy Sony~ But people say Sony is not practical at all. And I think so too. Sony is always beautiful but not useful. Just the camera I bought couple months ago. It is beautiful but not useful~~

Strangely, I got problems with my Dell. The keyboard went haywire and I had software incompatibility all the time. It cannot be this problem all the time. So the shop always reformat my hard disk. At the rate I am going, the shop is making money out of me and my Dell seems to be in the shop most of the time. I think Dell is not a very good choice.

I think MAC is a really good choice. But it is a expensive one. I already have some models in my mind. But I just dont know which one I should buy.

Yes, it is always good to be practical. Look at your budget.Look at your needs. Then buy that computer that fits the bill.

Well, mac is good but don't buy HP.

Since many has encountered problem with HP,
then HP should be out from the list. So, it
seems you have to look at Dell too... after
reading those responses from other myLotters,
you have to rewrite your list or 'mind map'
for an easy reference and decision making.
