I use to have tons of roses in my yard. The place was beautifully manicured and landscaped. There were all kinds of tree, nuts, oranges, others, and some grape vines to. I loved that place. I want to have lots of rose bushes here to and other trees too. They cost so muc especially since I have to start from scratch again. I have 2 rose bushes one by the house and another way out in the yard. It's far from being landscaped which is what I want. This cost money too. I don't know anyone here to get cuttings from or to get anything given to me to help with this. I will buy some as soon as I can though. What does your yard look like? Do you love flowers and fruit trees to?Thank you for responding.

I don't either, it's a constant struggle for me. I have gotten much better in the last few years though.

You can have inside plants even though you don't have a yard. I can't do the work to maintain them either. I can cut them. But I have grandchildren that are always looking for things to do around here. They like it a lot when I give them a little money for doing odds and ends around here. So have a garden would give them more to do, lol.

We moved here two and a half years ago. It was not landscaped at all. I've been slowly creating my little garden oasis but it does take time. I "steal" cuttings from bushes and flowers that are growing wild or when I see masses of them where a cutting or two won't be noticed. If I see a particularly nice bush or tree, I'll see if I can find the owner and ask if I can have a cutting. I've just learned how to root cuttings and I've gone a little nuts with it. There was one boxwood bush here when we bought the place and I've rooted about 10 cuttings now and am planting them around where they will, hopefully, look nice. I also belong to a garden club called Dave's Garden (www.davesgarden.com). They have a forum (free) where you can trade seeds or plants or get them VERY cheaply from other members. I LOVE this site! It might help you, too. I've bought a few plants (perennials) and harvest the seeds each year so I can spread the plants out. I have tons of purple coneflowers and black-eyed susans now and have just started some poppies. We have 3 1/2 acres here so it's going to take some time but I'll get there. Oh, I'm also planting fruit and nut trees. I buy one, then take cuttings from that and make more trees. My peach trees have already produced fruit. I can't wait for the others to mature enough so that I can take a walk outside and just pig out. LOL Good luck to you!

Oh, it sounds so nice your lawn and gardens. Thank you so much for the site and the info. I will certainly have to get in touch with that one, lol. I'm not good with starting from seeds. I have not done much transplanting either but I want to get my yard done, you know?

I love my garden but do not get he time to do a lot to it. I love puttering around pruning here and making plans. My garden is full of vegetables at the back and tropical flowers and trees. It gives me so much pleasure but is not the biggest of gardens.and I don't mind this either. I love being on my patio outside th house. My favourite place.

It is nice that you have flowers and vegetables. Tropical flowers are one of my favorites to. I also enjoy being outside lounging in the yard. I like you can not do a whole lot out there in the way of work.

Did you say flowers? Oh, but I adore them. I like to be surrounded by flowers. I love roses too, especially the yellow ones. I have some marigolds, azaleas, carnation in spring but they don't survive the heat in summer. I would like to have a lot of bulbs like tulips and maybe some tropical plants. I have not yet tried them. My lawn is not too bad. My husband keeps it nice. I would like to have more flowers but he loves his lawn as well. So I have to put some of my flowers in pots. Do you plan to start growing herbs and spices? I have a chilli plant which is giving me fresh chillies nearly all year round. Thyme and basil are easy to grow as well.

you are so lucky that you have your own yard, but in my countried, it's impossible for our ordinary people to have so many lands, in my lived city, the land is very scared and have a very expensive price to have... i also love all the flowers and fruit tree, and i usually buy some small bonsai in my house and care for them, this is part of my part time, i like that, this can make me more happier and also can drive out the tired from my body.

I'm sorry that you are not able to have land to have many flowers and fruit trees on. I love bonsai trees too. You can have dwarf fruit trees, they don't get big and flowers and plants in your place that you live. I have plants inside my home and care for them.

Hello Moondancer. How are you ? I can already see the roses in your garden (in my mind's eye) from here ! Looks really beautiful and pleasant. I like roses, jasmine, lily, and all the colorful flowers. My garden is not that beautiful, to say the truth. But, I do have a very nice lawn where I can relax sitting on an easy chair in the weekends. Have a nice day !

Hello greenline, it is so good to see you. I am okay. How about you? How are you doing? I really love all flowers. I'd love to have the ones you mentioned but I have not got any of those. I even love plants even the ones that do not flower. Hostas are one of my favorites but they cost a lot if you want more than a few of them, even then. I'd love to have jasmine and lavender to. I have a really nice yard and places to sit and enjoy my place. I just want some pretty flowers to look at and to enjoy.

Yes,I love flower's and plants..My favorites are roses.. I do not have any now..I have a few plants, house plants and miniature camillia plants that I keep on the back porch..They need a lot of sun and water..Sad to say I do not have a green thumb..I have to have plants that can take care of themselves. If I mess with them too much I manage to kill them..I do not like that because I do love plants and flowers so much..

I'm pretty much the same way. I do have some inside plants that I love so much. I had more at one time and they were actually doing good for me. Then I went to spend 3 months with my husband twice and the family let them die. I was so upset. Maybe you will get your roses soon.

Hey, Well my mother is the one that really enjoys flowers, and our front yard has got a huge range of flowers and roses and things like that. She is almost out in the back yard every day too, watering the flowers and watching them grow. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Many people have gardens for something to do and have some time to themselves. Also they have the beautiful flowers to look at, smell, and to watch as they grow. It is nice to have them.

Ours is mostly greenery at the back, bushes and trees, but i have roses, and tats has given me some seeds to plant, for poppy, foxglove and lupins I have a patio, and tablr and chairs, pot plants and ornaments. I want another patio area, and we have the grills, ready to build our own BBQ. I love to sit out there, when it is warm, and eat out there.

awww, your place sounds so lovely. I love all of the flowers you mentioned. I tried growing poppy and had no luck. lol I am better now with plants and may try again next year. I have lots of bulbs and seeds I have bought. I hope they won't be too old to try to grow. Enjoy your patio and hopefully you'll get your other one soon.
