Can you know the IP address of the person whom who are chatting with?how?

My friend has met someone through internet.He wants to know the real location or country of origin of the person he is chatting with in yahoo messenger.He asked me but I can't answer him so I a would like to ask about it to you my fellow mylotters.Any idea will be appreciated.

Hey friend there is no possible ways that the ip can be identified. As nowadays we are getting dyanmic ip. There are no chances to know to this my friend.
